Buck Rogers in the 26th Century Episode 222x "Minus Negative: Part 2" Written by: Erin Weinstock I don't hold any of the copyrights in this story, and this story was made without profit. Teaser: ext: The Island / Village: An alien of a species we've never seen before is taking off into the sky. It has four insect like wings in sets of two, the set shortly below the neck being the larger set. Its head is like a cracked shell of a human face; on top of the head are two long feelers. Its arms are thick on the start and thin and lightly barred on the forearm; ever thinner fingers come from its hands. Its legs look like they could be the mid-legs on a grasshopper and its tail is like that of a scorpion but not ending in a point that looks like it could be deadly. It's heading towards what the Jackos have made for the sun of this place. Only that sun doesn't look to be shining at its brightest. It's flickering like a light bulb, unsure if it wants to go out or not. Now that the insect alien is closer to the sun we can see it's only the size of a one story house and a small one at that, a large ball. Reaching out, the insect alien touches it tentatively at first but once a feeling of safety has come over the alien, it gently touches and keeps its hand on it. A shout from off-screen and down below the insect alien, coming from the ground, V.O. Wife (shouting): "Well?" The hovering insect alien at the sun, Husband (shouting): "There's no warmth, it's cold." V.O. Wife (shouting): "Is it the reason why our crop won't grow?" Husband (shouting): "The sun would tell us the how? Why?" The Husband flies down to his Wife, who's of the same species as him. The camera is flying with him all the way down, just a few feet behind him, out of reach of being clipped by his wings by a couple feet. Cont: "The Jackos, they might be our only answer to this." Wife: "We can't ask them the answer, they'll punish us!" The Husband lands and quickly takes to balancing himself upright by his tail and legs, exactly how the Wife is standing. Husband: "For the last time, the missing ones chose to leave, they weren't killed. I swear, I would have left with them if it weren't for your hibernation." Another alien never seen before walks on to the scene before us of the Husband and Wife. This one looks like a squid with a mass of triple the tentacles of a normal one, with no suckers, and being of varying thicknesses. It has no face that we can see because its face is contained at where all its tentacles branch out from. Squid Alien: "Has the fire given you answers?" Under his breath, Husband: "I don't believe this." Now so others can hear him, Cont: "No." Cut to: ext: Meadow: The two insect aliens, the squid one and a few other aliens spread out, are searching through the grass for something. The camera cuts to the POV of the Wife, though her segmented eyes. She's picking up dry ground in one hand. Then the camera cuts off being her POV to showing her holding up the dirt, Wife: "They've abandoned us. " In a snap the sky darkens and looks to be deep into its twilight hours. At this happening, everyone looks to the sky. Husband: "Our sun is gone." And a moment later rumbling can be heard. Alien One looking away from the sky and out past the camera's range to the side: "The village is coming towards us." Husband looking to Alien One: "What planet are you from? Idiotis? Villages don't move." The Husband then looks to where Alien One is looking and the camera swiftly changes to being a view behind him. The world is moving forward towards them but it's a mirror image of the world they're standing in front of. Their world, the Island, is shrinking. Alien Two: "We're going to die." The rumbling continues and the couple of the Husband and Wife are in an embrace, closing their eyes as they do so. The world falls suddenly into a starless night, with the terror of the end drawing ever nearer. Wisps of bright color begin to trail down to meet the fearful aliens and gasps of relief come from them at this. The couple open their eyes as ghostly red arms slide down to greet them. The insect aliens look up; a Jacko is over their heads, stretched off into the infinite black of the sky. Other different colored Jackos are hovering over the others in the group as well. Jacko Over Couple: "It is not safe to be here now. We will return you to your former worlds, for life to you all." Throughout the crowd, everyone is lifted into the air by the Jackos, to being out of sight. A line of brilliant light begins to wash over the land, leaving nothing in its wake but leftover flares that consume the screen too as the Island disappears; they take over. End Teaser Pre-Credits: Beginning of Act One: int: Defense Directorate / Main Entrance: Walking quickly across the floor, the Guard watches Raycor/Kate with Buck by one arm lead him to the door which leads to the interior of the Defense Directorate. Raycor/Kate (sounding of authority): "He's with me." Cut to: int: Hallway: The camera is following Buck and Raycor/Kate a couple feet in front of them. Buck: "Listen Kate, Raycor whoever you are. I don't think a shuttle will work for getting us to your plane." Raycor/Kate stopping and turning to face Buck: "There's a planet, Kolt-Na, it has a rift between our planes, a gateway." Buck becomes deep in thought and after a beat of this, Raycor/Kate yanks him into moving again as she wants to continue walking. Buck: "Twiki saw your world." Raycor/Kate: "Your robot saw only the faintest glance of it. The Breed of Light only allow a few select to enter it." Buck: "The Dirtwo for example?" Raycor/Kate: "They keep us in an anchored perspective over your plane. We have no need for the view of machines." Buck: "You know in defense of Twiki for once I think that explains a lot about you." Cut to: int: Flight Hangar: The camera is focused on the interior of a Defense Directorate shuttle, one window to the interior and out another on the other side. V.O. Raycor/Kate: "You will explain to the Breed of Light everything you have done in the 26th century. Because to our record your only interaction with higher beings have been with myself, the Jenka and the Jackos. You will, when your link to the Unknown has been discovered, reinstate our good standing with their kind. Understood?" Now Buck and Raycor/Kate come into view. Raycor/Kate comes first into view through the furthest away of the shuttle's windows, then Buck into foreground, getting ready to sit in the driver’s seat, the Phasoft-skin of the ship letting him sink in lightly. Buck looking to Raycor/Kate through the window: "Oh it's understood. Would you like me to say the thoughts I have over this whole ordeal, if I may? First off, new knowledge, you and the Jackos are connected? Do you know what those guys have been -" Buck is cut off and his attention at this very moment, along with Raycor/Kate's is taken by: Off camera, a member of the flight control staff. Flight Control: "I'm sorry but you can't take her. Only pilots can fly these ships, sir." The camera cuts back from the shuttle so we get a better view of the Flight Hangar. Now we can see the person dubbed Flight Control, people working on fixing up other shuttles and Z-87 Wolfs, and Buck with Raycor/Kate by the shuttle they were about to board. With Raycor/Kate starting this action, Buck and she switch their places for boarding the shuttle, Raycor/Kate now getting ready to board the pilot's side of the shuttle. Raycor/Kate: "Teach me." Cut to: int: Shuttle: Buck is buckling himself into the passenger seat while Raycor/Kate just sits in the pilot's seat, staring forward. Buck now finished in securing himself into his seat, looking towards Raycor/Kate: "Mind if I start by teaching you manners? Like, "please" teach me how to fly this bird?" Raycor/Kate: "Being formal serves no purpose here." Buck: "Maybe, but it never hurts to interact politely with others, especially if you want their help." A beat while Buck watches Raycor/Kate as she thinks about this. Raycor/Kate: "Please teach me how to fly this shuttle." Buck: "That's better." Buck pointing towards the dashboard, Cont: "First off, you need to power her up. Flip these switches towards the window plate." The camera cuts to being behind Buck and Raycor/Kate, as Raycor/Kate does as Buck has just instructed her to do. The large launch tube before them outside the shuttle shows nothing but clear sky beyond it. It should be noted that when I say large launch tube, it's a size up from the ones normally used for Z-87s to go flying out or in. As this line is said our perspective, the camera, switches back to what it was a moment ago, with us seeing Buck and Raycor/Kate from the front to being how it was before with us being able to see the launch tube. Cont: "Good, now what you want to do next is gently press in on this button on your steering grips. It ignites the thrust of her, the jet-rockets in the -" In a snap the image of a silhouetted person appears standing at the end of the launch tube. Cut to: int: Launch Tube: The camera is looking at the figure standing at the end of it; the figure doesn't move an inch. Cut to: int: Shuttle: Both Buck and Raycor/Kate have a look of disbelief on their faces at the sight off camera down the launch tube. Not taking her eyes off the off-camera sight, Raycor/Kate slowly reaches for the steering grips before her. As she starts to take hold of them, Buck noticing, Cont (softly): "Don't." They both return their attention to the sight off-camera down the tube. Cut to: int: Launch Tube: The figure stands, darkened by the light of the sky behind it, unmoving. Cut to: int: Shuttle: Cont: "Out now." Raycor/Kate begins to tighten her grip on the steering grips again. Cont: "No. From the shuttle!" They both unbuckle from their seats quickly, beginning to act in a race to leave the shuttle. Cut to: int: Launch Tube: The silhouetted figure puffs out, it expands to fill out the view of what's beyond this place; no sky can be seen now. And it comes running down the tube towards the interior of the Flight Hangar, its running being its flesh puffing out more and more, like a marshmallow in flames but this flesh as it gets closer to the light of the Flight Hangar we can see is a deep crimson. Another of the Strange Ones. Cut to: int: Flight Hangar: Buck and Raycor/Kate bolt from the shuttle with moments to spare as the puffing bulge of alien flesh billows out of the launch tube at the shuttle. Panic quickly takes over for every person here as they run to get out of the thing's way. It's flooding the Flight Hangar, taking up all the space it can from the floor to the ceiling. A mechanic falls victim to its consuming of the room as Buck and Raycor/Kate make their way to the door and make their way to the safety beyond the room. The room now fills with the alien mass in total. Cut to: int: Outside Flight Hangar: Everyone that can fit in the camera's range is in this scene, the ones that were able to escape the Flight Hangar in time. One of the mechanics fortunate enough to be an escapee has just feverishly finished working with the Phasoft-door panel's inter wiring, its wires are now broken. Cont: "Nowhere is safe." Raycor/Kate: "Wrong." The crowd around the pair look to them in wonder and noticing this, Buck and Raycor/Kate look back at them. Cut to: int: Major Dantin's Office: Flight Control is in here, along with Buck, and Raycor/Kate and the owner of this place, Dantin. Yelling at Flight Control, Dantin: "Why wouldn't you know how that thing got into the Defense Directorate, the hangar is your territory! You should know everything that takes place in it!" Keeping her calm with crossed arms, Flight Control: "Major, you can put me on report if you like for this but my eyes aren't noting everyone's activities 24 hours a day in the place. But -" Uncrossing her arms and putting a hand each on Buck and Raycor/Kate's shoulders: "I caught him attempting to fly one of our shuttles and both appear to know something about the intruder." Walking in a circle around the three but only eying the pair of Buck and Raycor/Kate, Dantin: "You knew the intruder was coming; why did it come to attack the Defense Directorate? Why did you choose to escape in one of our shuttles?" Huer comes into the room and this breaks the iron stare Dantin has been giving to the couple and softens it at seeing his superior. Huer to Dantin: "Answers." Dantin: "I was just asking." Buck to Huer: "I guess you still don't know me do you?" Dantin looking back and forth from Buck to Huer: "You might want to only pay mind to Gussy, this one has something wrong with him." Raycor/Kate: "I'm not Kate Gussy." Dantin: "Scratch that, they both have a screw lose." Buck looking to Raycor/Kate: "Could you release her now, Doctor Huer can be reasoned with." Dantin: "I can be reasoned with." Buck: "Sure you can.", to Raycor/Kate, Cont: "And let them see you." Raycor walks out of Kate and as Kate gets her bearings thanks to Buck, Raycor to Huer: "We didn't know it was coming and we didn't come here to escape it." Huer: "What are you?" Raycor: "Jenka, a higher being than you Humans. The intruder was a higher being too." Huer: "One of your kind as well?" Buck: "No, but basically still worth steering clear of." End of Act One: Beginning of Act Two: int: Major Dantin's Office: Everybody we last saw in this room is still in this room and the camera's focus at the moment is on Huer. Slightly frustrated, Huer: "Too much information too fast! Slow down and no fighting!" Pointing to Buck off-camera, Cont: "Your story first." Now the camera cuts back so we can see the scene better. Motioning as he's talking, Buck: "They decided to change my past because what I've done in this century doesn't suit their idea of what the present should be. And because of some short sight on their part, they're now in danger from some unknown, really really powerful aliens." Huer turning to Raycor: "And your people, this 'Breed of Light', you're gods?" Raycor: "No, but with our abilities combined we're as close as it gets." Then Huer backs away a little from her, Huer: "You or the unknown, one of you must be responsible then." Kate: "Responsible for what?" Taking in a deep breath, Huer: "Shifting a planet into another reality, another dimension." Buck to Raycor: "So it's not just people you mess with!" Raycor to Buck: "The Breed would do no such thing!" Huer: "I told you two to stop fighting!" Raycor calms down and Buck in a snap also starts acting submissive, Buck: "Sorry doctor." Huer to Raycor: "The planet of Noyas, you and your people have nothing to do with its disappearance?" This last line said from Huer now has Buck thinking. Raycor: "Yes." Buck: "Repeat yourself, Doctor Huer. What planet did you say got shifted?" Huer: "Noyas. [beat] The Scientific Research Directorate was sent to it after strange reports started coming in that it seemed to turn into nothing more than an image and no transmissions could be made with the planet, and none could be received. The Firaz and all others that called that planet home are gone. All that's left is a gateway into some other plane." It should be noted right now Buck is back into being in deep thought. Raycor: "This plane, did the Scientific Research Directorate enter it?" Huer: "If it's where you need to reach, you can count me out for that ride. Alive. Able to read your thoughts. No ground, no sky." Buck (softly): "The Porto Number Seven, they went deep into my mind, they learned everything about me." Looking to Raycor, Cont: "They acted as one." Raycor: "What are you talking about?" Huer to Dantin in a low tone: "Mind if I take your chair? I have the feeling I'm going to be here for a while." Dantin offers his chair to Huer who sits down in it. Buck to Raycor: "This other plane, the place that hurts you. It's like what they called the Generational Mass only on a much more advanced scale [beat] and much less slimy, thank god for that." Raycor: "How could they be so different now?" Buck: "No natural threats on Noyas, nothing to get in the way of their evolution and minus me. Nothing in the back of their thoughts, my respect for life." Huer: "Then you have to talk to them again, err then I mean for the first time." Buck: "I'm not sure I can do that?" Dantin: "Why not?" Buck: "Because I can feel it coming on this time." Kate: "What?" Buck: "My end." The screen fuzzes and when it returns to normal, Buck is gone. Everyone but Raycor is acting alerted to something being amiss. Huer: "I - I know something just took place. We were just talking about something, something really important." Raycor after a beat: "How much do you remember?" Kate: "There was a man here, his name escapes me but it's due to him. We need to get you to your plane." Cut to: ext: Garden: On screen the words appear: "April 1st 2008." Buck is sitting on the ground in everyday clothes, legs in front of him lightly bent. He's looking forward at a garden that looks like it's starting to grow. A little green but mostly it's just dirt and rotting leaves. The place home to this garden is Chicago, post World War Three. The words disappear after a beat. Buck looks up at the sky. Buck: "I should be grateful shouldn't I?" He drops his head, shaking it no. Coming up behind him, unnoticed is Jenny, smiling. Jenny from behind wraps her arms around him. This surprises Buck as in he's questioning who's hugging him. He turns slightly to look at her, Cont: "Jenny?" Jenny: "Something the matter?" Buck: "Wow, it's really you." Jenny: "Of course it's really me." Buck stands up and while doing this, Jenny lets go of him and stands up in turn. The two face each other. The camera tightens in on them while these actions are taking place. Holding hands with her, Buck: "You're not a dream, not an illusion brought on by information transmitters in the air." Laughing lightly before saying this, Jenny: "What?" Buck hugs her but when he loosens his hug, his smile is not what one would expect it to be. Laughing again, Cont (softy): "What?" Buck: "I never thought I'd see you again. [beat] There's another -" Buck is having a hard time bringing himself to give her the news. No longer in a jovial mood, Jenny: "Another what?" Something off camera and low has caught her attention behind Buck. Jenny can only make noises of shock in reaction. Buck looks behind him towards where Jenny is looking. Buck: "Oh that's what's worrying you? That's - " Jenny, already bolting away from the unseen sight: "Run!" The camera's range widens and we get a better view of the scene. There's a skunk a few feet away from Buck. Slowly Buck walks away from it, to follow Jenny off-camera. Once the scene has been clear of the couple for a few beats, the Skunk: "Morons." Cut to: ext: Space: In a burst of color from the micro-par stream, a Defense Directorate shuttle emerges from a Star-Port. The camera pans in moving with it as it starts towards a nearby planet, Kolt-Na. V.O. Flash: "This isn't going to be easy, Raycor. To these people your portal is a gateway to heaven, they don't see it as something tangible." V.O. Raycor: "I will make them understand the fact we need to gain access to Naa." V.O. Flash: "Well here's your chance." Cut to: int: Shuttle: Flash is sitting in the pilot's seat and Raycor in the passenger's. Kolt-Na is taking up almost the whole window before them. As this scene begins, Flash is pressing a button on the dashboard that's right beside a small speaker. Flash leans back in his seat and the speaker snaps into life. V.O. Sky Check: "This is the Sky Check division of Defense United, we've been alerted to your business here. Please turn back." Flash turning to Raycor, and under his breath: "Told you." Returning his attention to the speaker, Cont (cocky): "My superior, Doctor Huer spoke with you for permission over this matter. YOU gave us permission through him. We CAN land at Naa." Sky Check: "And that matter has been taken into debate since that transmission took place. The current ruling is you cannot land at Naa or anywhere within a mile. Is this understood?" Flash: "This is a matter of life or death." Sky Check: "That wasn't mentioned in the proposal to land here as mentioned by your superior. Please turn back." Returning to being closer to the dashboard, Flash presses the button by the speaker again, cutting off the transmission. Raycor: "We're returning to Earth?" Flash taking hold on the steering grips and winking at Raycor: "I'm under the influence of a higher power here, I have to take you to your home." Raycor: "I'm not interested." Flash (shocked): "In going home?!" Raycor: "In your interest in me." Flash: "I'm a man, sue me." A light thump rocks the ship a little and Raycor goes on alert. Raycor: "The Porto Number Seven?" Flash: "Doubt it, but a problem [beat] just the same." Cut to: ext: Space: Two Defense United fighter ships are coming up on the Defense Directorate shuttle to both sides of it. The ship on the left side gives the shuttle a light blast from an energy weapon encased in one wing tip. Cut to: int: Shuttle: V.O. Sky Check: "Return to Earth, approaching and landing near Naa is not acceptable." Flash (softy): "We can't defend ourselves in this ship." Raycor: "Fly, I'll defend the ship." Flash looks at Raycor briefly with a questioning look before tightening his grip on the steering grips. The camera focuses in on Raycor closing her eyes. Cut to: ext: Space: The Defense Directorate shuttle is moving towards the planet and the two Defense United fighter ships are following after it. One of them from wing tip again fires on the shuttle but the fire just before reaching the shuttle vanishes into a puff of smoke. Another shot is fired a beat later, only this one hits the shuttle. The shuttle in its descent towards the planet spins with the loss of one of its jet-rockets. End of Act Two: Beginning of Act Three: ext: Chicago / Restaurant: Buck and Jenny are sitting in chairs paired with tables on the patio to this place. No one else is here at the moment. Buck looks concerned and Jenny is taking in what he's saying with an air of despair. Jenny: "It all sounds amazing." Buck: "I know." Jenny: "I understand, [beat] was she pretty?" Buck: "You met." Jenny looking confused: "I did?" Buck: "Wilma told me about it, [beat] when time got all confused." Jenny: "Buck, if you had anything to do with that, [beat] it never happened." Buck eyes down, leans back into his chair, thinking about what been discussed between him and Jenny. Cont: "Did you love her?" He turns his head away from her. Cont (softy): "Do you still love me?" Buck returning his gaze to her: "Yes." There's a beat where nothing is said between them as they're both lost in thought, then... Buck giggles. Jenny concerned and looking like she could get angry: "Buck?" Buck: "There's a Persian cat brushing me." Then Jenny looks under the table and begins making noises. Buck: "What?" Jenny returning from looking under the table and looking a bit pale: "We can run but that might not help this time." Moving to look under the table himself, Buck: "What do you mean by that?" Buck now looking under the table, Cont: "Oh god." With a yep out of Buck in reaction, the Skunk seen earlier, jumps into his lap and then to the top of the table. During this hopping as part of Buck's reaction, it should be noted he falls back in his chair and falls backwards with it to the ground. The Skunk looking down at Buck on the ground: "Relax, will you." Buck can only muster a noise in response to the talking Skunk. Then turning to Jenny, Cont: "You, I've seen around before. You can panic and flee, I only want to talk to him." Now it's Jenny in disbelief that can only respond to the Skunk with a noise. Buck gets up and then rights his chair for sitting in it again, Buck: "OK you're strange and I thought everything strange was out of my life forever now, so explain." Skunk: "You first, you're the one that popped on to this world out of nothingness." Jenny still having a hard time with the fact she's talking to a Skunk: "No he didn't, as far as the rest of the world is concerned, besides him, he's always been here." Skunk: "No, he came here from another place. My people can pick up on things like that and I want to know what world he's from." Buck: "Skunks can talk and sense when people have been moved through time when it's been rearranged?" Skunk: "The Breed of Light collectively bumped you here. What did you do to deserve that?" Buck: "You know the Breed of Light?" Skunk: "I'm one of them." Jenny: "You're a skunk." Turning to Jenny, Skunk: "I'm a Junean, we're not as flashy as the others of the Breed but we're still just as high on the food chain. Um pardon the fact of where I'm standing though." Buck: "Skunks are aliens." Turning back to Buck, Skunk: "No, when we choose a planet to make our home, we instantly take on the look and a few traits of a feared and rejected life form that's on it. It's only on Earth we're skunk-like." With his hands as a barrier, Buck sits his chin on the table so he can better see eye to eye with the Junean Skunk. Buck: "So what cosmic messes do you guys make?" Skunk: "We don't make messes, we help people. [beat] You know your legends of fairies and leprechauns? That's us." Buck: "I've met fairies, you're not a fairy." Skunk: "Other worlds have real fairies. Do you really think people on this planet are going to boost to others, "Hey a skunk just granted me my fondest wish"? Never." Jenny: "You grant wishes?" Skunk: "Only if I see it as well warranted." Buck: "How?" Skunk: "I talk to the Breed and they grant their power to flow through me." Getting closer to Buck, now truly eye to eye with him, Cont: "Now you explain yourself." Cut to: ext: Naa: Here we see Naa from a distance, exactly like how we last saw it in "By Any Other Name," and a few yards away from it is the Defense Directorate shuttle, crashed and in flames. Cut to: int: Shuttle: Raycor is looking through the windshield at Naa outside; the flames around her don't seem to be bothering her in the least. Flash though has taken to the situation differently. He's bleeding, unconscious and slumped over in the driver's seat. She looks to him, noting his condition. No concern crosses her face at seeing him this way. Then Raycor leaves the shuttle. Cut to: ext: Naa: In a fast walk, Raycor is heading for the altar but after a beat she stops in her tracks. She looks back towards the shuttle on fire and after a beat begins walking back towards it. Cut to: int: Shuttle: Raycor pulls Flash from the driver's seat and out of camera view. Cut to: ext: Chicago / Restaurant: The scene is almost how we left it only now the Junean Skunk is getting ready to hop off the table. Skunk: "Glad I don't live in the 26th century." Finding a good jump-off spot, Cont: "You want this? You want to help them?" The Skunk jumps off the table to the ground, Buck: "Yeah." Jenny looks to Buck and Buck knowing what that means, gulps back a little air. Softly, Jenny: "Buck?" Both Buck and Jenny give each other a long hard stare into each other's eyes. Cont: "You wanted this." Buck: "I know and I still do." After a beat, Jenny: "Don't get me wrong, I care I really do. If I didn't care for cases like this I wouldn't have joined the Air Force." Buck isn't sure how to react in movement. Jenny: "Go." Led by Buck, they hug and it's a long hug. When they break it off, Skunk: "I'm not doing this for free." Concerned, both Buck and Jenny look to the Skunk who is now on all fours in front of the restaurant. Skunk: "I know times are hard and in respect to you Humans I don't pluck your food or your gardens but an egg, any type of egg. It would make for a good payment." Jenny: "This place, there's no food, I'm sorry." Skunk: "Are you sure? It's a restaurant." Buck to Jenny: "Does that petting zoo still exist on Sable Avenue?" Running away once she's said this, Jenny (smiling): "No, but I know the woman that took in its chickens." Cut to: ext: Naa: Raycor has just reached the altar carrying Flash who's still limp. The altar is beginning to lick its energy bolts over the couple. Fully on the platform now with Flash in tow, Raycor is consumed by the altar's energies. New flames begin to lick them, the red, orange, blue and black ones that have no heat are created as the portal between worlds opens: the Breed's higher plane to this one. The camera focuses in on the two tighter as the energy brightens and takes over their images in full. Cut to: ext: Chicago/ Sidewalk near the Restaurant: The camera is focused on one of Jenny's hands handing the Junean Skunk a brown chicken egg. Then the camera pulls down and we see the full scene that now shows Buck and Jenny in squatting positions over the Skunk, and the Skunk using its tail for balance stands up setting the egg at its feet. Skunk: "It will do." Buck looking to Jenny: "Thank you." Skunk looking back and forth at both of them: "Um, you two want to say your goodbyes?" Buck still looking at Jenny: "Do we have to say our goodbyes?" Jenny: "I can't." Buck: Why not? It would be great." Jenny: "It's your world, not mine." Then they, and I mean Buck and Jenny when I write this, kiss. After the kiss, Buck: "How does it work?" Skunk: "Well I've already spoken with them, mental contact in case you're wondering." Turning to Jenny, Cont: "You might want to leave for this." Jenny: "Why?" Skunk: "Remember how I said my kind takes on not only the look of a species native to the planet but also some of its traits?" Jenny: "Yes." Buck: "I think I see where this is going. Jen, I don't want any credit for giving you THIS perfume." They kiss again and now Jenny backs away. Looking off camera towards Jenny, Cont (almost at a whisper): "Ready." End of Act Three: Beginning of Act Four: ext: Higher Plane: We're on the outskirts going in. There is no ground visible yet and in the distance is the home of the Breed of Light. It looks like a mushroom cloud with a mirror image coming from its bottom with pillars of cloud making up their stalks. Waves of lighting that look like the Aurora Borealis streak over it and light up it in patches. What surrounds this is sheets of different color skies, it looks like a pad of paper has spread itself out and its sheets are waving in a breeze that refuses to move them from their spots. The camera heads in close on the pillars and just before breaking into them, Cut to: int: The Breed's Home: It's nothing but black and ghost like images of aliens moving about, most are aliens we've never seen before but the ones we do recognize are Jenka and Jackos. Buck is standing looking around, however he doesn't look ghost-like and neither does Flash lying on the floor. When Buck notices Flash lying on the ground he bends down to him. Buck: "Flash?" Flash opens his eyes and stares at Buck, Cont: "Are you OK?" Flash: "I crashed the shuttle." Then slowly Flash picks himself up from the ground and Buck returns to standing up straight, Cont: "Where are we?" Buck: "The home of the Breed of Light." Looking at Buck, Flash: "And who are you?" Buck: "Someone you used to know." Flash pointing at Buck: "You're that man responsible for all this, the reason I'm here." Buck: "It's not my fault, and what you're doing here Flash is beyond me." Raycor, as ghost-like as the rest of the Breed of Light, talking to Buck: "We will heal time, you must talk with the Porto Number Seven." Buck: "But I already did in a sense. Remember it was them digging into my brain that kept them from becoming as you now know them in the first place. [beat] Did that just make sense?" Raycor: "The Breed will send you to tell them, talk with them as you once did, tell them all you know and what they must never become." Buck: "So you're not going to fix things back to how they were." Raycor: "What is now will only be remembered as a dream and nothing more." Flash: "Why am I here?" Raycor: "You have been brought back to life here." Quickly taking on a look of shock after having heard the last line and after a beat, Flash: "Thank you." Buck turns from Raycor to look at the aliens beyond her, Buck: "Everything will return to -?" In a snap the Breed in their faded images expand and brighten to fill the screen. Cut to: int: Generational Mass: Buck is suspended in the goo of this place. The camera moves in close on his face as we see him acknowledge where he is. In a montage we watch vines of the living gel zip through the Mass. They're moving in on Buck. The vines form bulges at their ends and blossom nerve tips as they surround him. Then the camera cuts in close on Buck's eyes. Memories begin to flash forth as images, and this flickers in between being the image of Buck focused in on his eyes. These memories start with Buck's earliest ones, ones that are photos of Buck with his family: his mom and dad and brother, later moving on to clipping the camping trip shown in Episode 3. The memories now move faster and for only brief moments do we see Buck's eyes. Clips flash in from Episode 29 when the Porto Number Seven first searched his memories, Buck's memories shown in that episode. And past those memories the clips move faster, now moving at one every two seconds. These clips come from the whole of the series in order except Episode 11. Cut to: ext: Defense Directorate Shuttle Park Higher Level: The POV right now is Buck's and he's looking out into the night sky at the stars. Then the camera cuts off Buck's perspective to show him looking at the stars and we see Wilma coming towards him. Wilma: "I was told I'd find you here." Buck only makes a noise in acknowledgment to hearing that last line. After a beat, Cont: "Where did you go off to?" Now turning to Wilma, Buck: "What?" Wilma: "When Lodus was going to send the three of us to Fitopass, you disappeared." Buck: "You don't remember?" Wilma: "Remember what?" Buck: "A strange dream, one two years long." Wilma is now face to face with Buck. Wilma: "I've never talked about that dream. [beat] Every night for the last two years, a different life. How could you know about that?" Buck returning his gaze to the sky: "What gives us our mysteries and fantasies of bizarre places beyond this one." Wilma smiling: "Star gazer." Buck gives a small laugh. Wilma leans up against Buck as they both stare into the night sky, Cont: "You're not getting out of this one, Buck Rogers, you will tell me." End Of Act Four. The End. Roll Credits.
