Buck Rogers in the 26th Century Episode 216x "Among Sheep and Wolves" Written by: Erin Weinstock I don't hold any of the copyrights in this story, and this story was made without profit. Teaser: ext: Vehicle Pick-up Park: This place sits on the edge of the main center for a resort named "Solar Powered Sunrise Resort". It's a small building with a large garage attached to it meant for maintenance on the cars in the parking lot it shares this area with. Cars like we'd see today in this century. A lush forest surrounds this place and as this scene begins two men are walking around the parking lot looking at the cars as if a sale is about to be made any second. Watching them is a group of mechanics. Car Renter: "So which one will it be?" Resort Guest: "All of them are covered by the payment I made to the resort? The silver package?" Car Renter: "Only the gold package at this resort limits which car you can pick, [ beat ] have you taken your driving instructional course?" The camera cuts to focusing on the mechanics who show a wisp of pleasure at what is taking place and look at one another. V.O. Resort Guest: "Yeah and I passed it." V.O. Car Renter: "Good, because standard health insurance doesn't cover crashes." The camera cuts back to the Resort Guest and the Car Renter looking at the cars. The Resort Guest is eyeing an SUV. Resort Guest: "Would it have been covered in the time period this place is supposed to represent?" Car Renter: "This isn't a standard vacation resort and isn't recognized yet by most insurance companies throughout the galaxy. [ beat ] Sadly somehow none on Earth recognizes it." Resort Guest: "But this place simulates Earth." Car Renter: "Not in the 26th century and no one has needed car coverage in centuries." Resort Guest: "I see your point." The Resort Guest slaps the hood of the car. Cont: "I want this one." The Car Renter pulls a set of keys from a pocket and presents them to Resort Guest. Car Renter: "Remember you can't take it off planet in your ship or any guest's ship." Resort Guest taking the keys grinning: "I signed ten papers saying I'd obey the rules of this resort." Using one key in the driver's side door, Resort Guest then quickly pops open the door. Cont: "You can count on me to keep with them, I'm a lawyer." The Resort Guest slips into the driver's seat and shuts the door fast. Cut to: ext: Country Road: The SUV is moving along a winding country road that looks completely peaceful. Freshly rained on grass, random trees, all to one climate type. Small buildings here and there that look to be from our time. This scene is held on for a few beats before ... Cut to: int: SUV: Resort Guest is sitting behind the wheel taking in what's taking place around his car with joy. Then he grins and looks briefly down at the dashboard. With one hand on the steering wheel he begins to fiddle with the car's radio controls, first turning on the radio and then flipping between stations. Some of what we hear being sounded from the speakers is music we might hear on the radio. Other music is purely stuff we'd never hear and that's 26th century music. He finally picks one station, a light jazz station and stops fiddling with the radio. Both his hands are on the wheel once more but something begins to happen with the car he pressed no controls for. His seatbelt is beginning to tighten across his chest. Now he takes notice of the act the car is performing on him and he stops the vehicle by a slam on the brakes. He takes to remove the seatbelt by normal means and it would undo its grip from him, but instead it tightens its grip on him further. The Resort Guest tries to pull the ever constricting seatbelt off him but to no avail; he can only lift it ever so slightly from him before it snaps to him tighter than before. It's now making it hard for the man to breathe. In the panic of the moment the Resort Guest releases his foot from the brake letting the car move on its own with nothing to guide its steering since both his hands are focused on trying to release the tightening seatbelt from across his body. Cut to: ext: Country Road: The car drifting, crashes into a tree. Pre-Credits: End of teaser: Beginning of Act One: ext: Solar Powered Resort Main Complex: We're outside of the entranceway which looks to belong to a fancy hotel with even a pull through for cars to run through for people entering or the dropping off of items. As this scene starts Buck is exiting a van, grinning at his surroundings as he takes them in. Fox is standing just before the main door with his grandfather Francis Fox. Fox coming up to Buck: "Enjoy your ride from the shuttleport station?" Buck looking like he's enjoying every moment: "It's a blast from the past, Fox, you did a great job here." Fox: "Don't give me all the credit," Waving towards Francis, Cont: "Meet my grandfather, Francis Fox; this was his idea." Buck and Fox walk towards Francis with Buck putting out a hand for Francis to take. Buck: "You did a great job on this; it's a pleasure meeting you at last." Francis, taking Buck's hand: "And it's a pleasure to meet you too, Buck Rogers. My grandson here has told me a lot about you. You're from the 21st Century, before the war?" Buck's mood dims down: "Yes, I am." Francis realizing his mistake in subject: "Then you should enjoy this place. [beat] Your compliments however about how great you think this place is." He perks up, Cont: "You've barely seen what this resort has to offer, so you're in for further treats from your past." Francis turns to Fox. Cont: "Show him around and to his room, I have work to do." Fox starts walking towards the main door giving Buck inviting hand gestures to follow him. Fox: "Come on, here you have a "room key"." Buck following after Fox to enter the building but along the way turning his attention back towards the van he left: "My things?" Fox: "Will be brought to your room; these guys can be trusted, Buck." Cut to: int: Hallway: We're just outside of Buck's hotel room and the camera is focused on Buck working the lock with the key. Buck: "It's weird what you've known your whole life but then think of as a lost skill for not having to practice for a long time." Buck gets the key to work and opens the door. In a snap the camera cuts to: int: Buck's Room: This place looks like a typical two or three star hotel room from our day. Buck and Fox enter the room and as Buck is taking it all in, Buck: "I hate to use the word retro but I will use the word "wow"." Fox: "It has everything you'd find in a late 20th century and early 21st century hotel room including -." Fox grabs the TV remote and hands it to Buck, Cont: "A COLOR TV." Holding the remote and looking at it Buck is getting a good chuckle from the moment. Buck: "Does it work?" Fox points towards the TV, smiling: "Find out." Buck points the remote towards the TV and pressing down on its power button. The TV explodes. Fox (dryly): "That wasn't supposed to happen." The turning to Buck, Cont: "You're more familiar with the technology, [beat] have you ever seen -." Buck cuts him off. Buck: "No." Fox returning his attention to the flaming TV set in pieces: "The resort has a lot more to offer than vintage technology." Then looking to Buck, Cont: "Want to play a game of soccer?" Buck surprised by the suggestion: "You know people here that would be interested?" Fox: "Outside of the people hired to do technical jobs at the resort, most of the people working are familiar with 20th century history and sports. I'm sure after setting this place up and with the fact nothing special happened on opening day they'd be interested in an activity like that." Buck: "I'm not dressed for running around a field; do you know when my stuff is going to be delivered?" Fox: "Should be any second." And then Fox starts heading towards the door. Just before Fox is ready to leave the room, Cont: "Interested?" Buck: "I haven't played a game in over a year, so sure." Fox leaves the room. Cut to: ext: Sports Field: The place is the size of a football field and it looks like it's ready for any outdoor sport that involves running and grass. Grass chalk is lined all over it for all sorts of sports; in the distance we can see an equipment shed and a variety of packed up nets. In the foreground stand Fox and two teams of men, women and aliens all dressed to play a game of soccer. Fox has the ball under one foot. Alien One: "Are you sure this man, Rogers, the man you invited here is going to come?" Fox turning to Alien One: "It's been a long day for him but I know he can be counted on." A woman points outwards from herself towards off camera; Woman One: "Is that him?" Fox looks towards where Woman One just indicated. Fox: "Buck?" The camera cuts on to Buck jogging up to them. Buck: "Not any second Fox, it took them a half an hour." Fox: "Sorry Buck." Buck: "It's not your fault." Fox looks to the two teams that it should be noted now are wearing two different color jerseys to separate them in look. Pointing to Buck, Fox: "Green team, you're with Rogers." Pointing to himself, Cont: "Yellow team, you're mine." And with that said Fox kicks the soccer ball out from himself and both teams start playing. Cut to: int: Resort / Outside kitchen: The camera at first is focused on a sign centered on a normal wooden door saying what lies beyond the door which is the kitchen. But then after a beat the camera pans down to the doorknob, and right on the crack between the door and the frame connecting it to the wall is a device clamping the two together. V.O. Chief One: "The weird stuff these people order." Cut to: int: Kitchen: Once more this place looks like it could exist today: this place looks like it could belong to a restaurant. A group of seven chiefs are busy moving about the place at their tasks of preparing a variety of dishes. As this scene begins Chief One is holding a slip of paper with writing on it facing him. Cont: "Where is the cook book, the one that uses paper files? I've never heard of what this guest wants to eat." One chief takes a moment out of her work to look at the paper Chief One is holding. Chief Two: "You've never heard of a cheeseburger?" Chief Two looks at Chief One, smiling. Chief One: "You're a history major, I'm not." Chief Two: "Shelf above that stove." She points towards a large stove against one wall. With the camera following him, Chief One goes over to the stove Chief Two had pointed out and reaches to a metal shelf above it to retrieve a cook book. Giving an odd face Chief One sniffs the air. Chief One, giving the face that says he's caught a whiff of something that can't be identified: "Does anyone SMELL anything odd?" Chief Two: "Like what?" Chief One: "Like something strange in the air, like another gas?" Chief Three steps up to where Chief One is and with a little bit of hesitance bends down and lightly smells the stove top. Chief Three: "The gas is on." Then Chief Three bends in to look at the stove's dials, Cont: "The stove isn't on, this isn't right, it shouldn't be producing any gas." Chief One: "Is it something we should be concerned with?" Chief Two: "It could kill us if it gets lit or we stay in here and inhale enough of it." Then Chief One calmly walks to the door and tries to open it. Chief One: "The door is stuck." Chief Two, who wasn't even looking at Chief One when he tried the door: "These ones aren't Phasoft remember?" Chief One trying the door again harder: "I've been here for five days, Roxana. I've been well aware of that fact for some time." Chief Four: "God, now I can smell it." As Chief One is still trying at the door, Chief Three states looking at the stove: "It's getting stronger! We have to get out of here!" Chief One kicking at the door: "What do you think I'm trying to make happen!" Chief Five heading for one of the stoves: "All we have to do is unplug them and we'll be safe!" And with that said Chief unplugs the stove he's nearest to and one that's right beside it. Chief Two unplugs the third and final stove, being the one Chief One grabbed out the cook book from the shelf above it earlier. In the background one of the Chiefs who has kept quite up until now coughs. Chief Two: "It didn't help!" Chief One, falling at the door which he's found he cannot open for anything: "And [beat] we're trapped." Cut to: ext: Sports Field: The air of the scene tells us the soccer game has just ended and the two teams are now heading back towards the resort. Buck looks happy but Fox is positively beaming from ear to ear. Fox kicking the soccer ball lightly out from him: "That was a good game." Buck, being a good sport and grinning: "Shut up." End of Act One: Beginning of Act Two: ext: Solar Powered Resort Main Complex: As the two soccer teams approach this place with Buck and Fox in the lead, Fox now holding the soccer ball, they notice a 26th century style ambulance parked just outside the door with what looks like most of the resort's guests and staff nearby in the outdoors as well. Buck (to himself): "What happened here?" Fox: "I don't know but I know it isn't right." As Fox is finishing up that last line he breaks into a run towards the crowd. The camera cuts to him reaching Francis who is almost dead center in the crowd. Cont: "Gramp?!" Francis: "The kitchen staff has been killed." Buck in a jog has now come into the scene. Buck: "Did I just hear that right? People are dead?" Fox turning to Buck quickly: "Yes." Then returning his attention to Francis, Cont: "Who did -? How'd they die?!" Francis: "They were locked inside the kitchen and the stoves [beat] they were emitting gas. That's what killed them." Fox: "More deaths!" Buck (in shock): "Others have died?" Looking down and to himself, Buck: "This is going to be one of those days." To Francis, Fox: "Did the gas make it unsafe to go inside?!" One of the paramedics moving by, pushing a dolly in front of him that on it holds a full body bag: "It's safe, everybody can go back inside." Buck, who just watched the Paramedic with the dolly: "Cute." Fox rushes inside the building and Buck chases after him. Cut to: int: Lobby: Continuous from the last scene as Buck and Fox enter. Fox (shouting): "This place is supposed to be relaxing!" Buck: "It's not your fault but we might want to find out who killed the kitchen staff." Fox stops in his tracks to pace himself. Fox (in a low voice): "The body from the car crash was never found. [beat] Only a lot of blood. Machines are malfunctioning. Your TV exploded and now some of the staff are dead." Turning to Fox, Buck: "At least your team won the soccer game." A well-dressed staff member starts approaching Buck and Fox but mainly towards Fox. Motioning with one index finger, the well-dressed Staff Member to Fox: "I know this doesn't help your day but something horrible was just discovered I feel you should see." Fox: "Define horrible." Cut to: int: Boiler Room: In here we see the dead bodies of staff members. Burned horribly and "part-eaten," lying about the floor of the room. After a beat the camera pans to Staff Member, Fox and Buck in the entranceway taking this all in. Buck: "My god," the line being said in a whisper. Fox (in horror): "When did this happen?" Staff Member (whispering): "I don't know but I think there might be more than one killer on the loose." Buck: "A group of guests?" Fox: "Guests wouldn't have access to places like this or be able to fool around with the kitchen stoves or door locks." As that last line was said by Fox, he turns to the Staff Member. Staff Member (still at a whisper): "Not me, but there are some here that are really quiet." Fox: "Do you know their names?" Staff Member: "No." Buck taking in the sight of the carnage: "Fox, how much of a background check was given before each person could be hired?" Fox (in a sharp manner): "They were run on all the staff. Buck, we already know it's one or more people working for the resort that did this." Buck: "But do background checks count species?" Staff Member turning to Buck: "Species profiling is illegal." Showing some hesitance in his voice and pointing towards the bodies, Buck: "Remember Patty? Fox, Houten eat people." No longer pointing towards the bodies, Cont: "And until they reveal themselves, they look just like us." Fox (in a low voice): "Almost anyone here then could be the enemy." Cut to: int: Buck's Room: On his bed sits the standard Defense Directorate's duffle bag and a suitcase. As this scene begins Buck and Fox are entering the camera's range of view, we can tell they just got into this room. As Buck is going over to his suitcase, Fox: "I can't believe you brought one with you!" Opening up his suitcase, Buck: "You know me. I always carry a blaster with me at all times." Fox: "But you were told this would be a relaxing vacation." Then just as Buck is starting to root through the suitcase and turning to Fox. Buck: "And think about what it's turning into." Returning his attention to the suitcase in rooting, Buck after a beat, Cont: "This isn't right." Fox: "What?" Buck: "My blaster is gone." Fox: "Maybe you forgot it." Buck stops rooting through the suitcase. Buck: "No. That's why it took so long for my belongings to get here, they took the blaster out." Fox: "That sounds like paranoia." Buck nods his head towards the destroyed TV. Fox looking towards Buck's indicated place: "Good point." Buck: "Since your granddad owns this place, can you get all of the guests to leave?" After a beat of thinking, Fox: "You don't want any bystanders to get hurt when we find the Houten. Buck, I'll try but what are we going to hit them with when we find them?" Buck: "This is the "Solar powered Sunrise Resort," since there aren't any blasters here we'll just have to find something old fashioned to do the job with." Cut to: int: Lobby: From a side door Fox enters this place and strides briskly to a waist high "flap-door" that when he pushes inwards at it, lets him behind the check-in and check-out counter. Puzzled Check-in clerks watch Fox, then proceed to move into an interior room which is meant for administrative purposes: Francis Fox's Office. Cut to: int: Francis's Office: Francis is behind his desk putting paperwork away in its drawers. Fox is standing by his side resting his hands on the desk, looking to Francis. Francis: "But this is a neutral planet, not worth the attention of any power." Fox: "Gramp, I don't think that matters to them. We're at war and they see us as cattle stock." Francis: "That's a chilling way to state what you think, Hieronymous. [ beat ] How many do you believe I'VE employed here to KILL the guests and other staff, Human and non-aggressive alien alike?" Fox: "I don't know but I'd say most are suspect." Francis looks to Fox and with showing thought in his words: "I don't want a witch hunt." Fox: "But they look just like us." Francis: "Then be just as discreet as they are and tell that to your friend, Rogers as well." Fox: "Gramp, the guests need to leave." Francis: "Do you know how much money this resort has made since it opened one week ago, Hieronymous? I can't close it down and disappoint people staying here that have yet to pay in full. They'll never come back." Fox: "But they are at risk from however many Houten may be lurking about this place." Francis: "Then find these wolves in sheep's clothing as fast as you can." Cut to: int: Outside Francis's Office: A staff member that looks to be in the janitorial area of employment with the resort, has his ear pressed against the door to the office. V.O. Fox: "Can I send for reinforcements from the Directorate if need be? [ beat ] I'll tell them to be discreet." The Janitor reveals himself for what he is as he takes on a look of excitement and momentarily puffs out the bone ridges under the skin on the sides of his face. V.O. Francis: "If you and Rogers can't handle things." Then the Janitor grins broadly and walks away to out of camera view. Fox comes through the door to Francis's Office and after a beat of thinking twists his mouth slightly in thinking about something interesting then walks off camera himself. Cut to: int: Hallway: We're right outside of the kitchen again and as this scene starts, Buck is taking police tape off the door. The police tape now off the door and sticking to the near by wall, he then enters the kitchen. Cut to: int: Kitchen: As the scene starts Buck has just entered this place. Looking around with one hand out he fans the air which he makes a face at due to the gas that can still be smelled lightly. He quickly locates a long cooking knife and takes it. And then he secures it on the tight gap present between his belt and his pants. Buck then leaves the kitchen, tucking his shirt down over the knife to conceal it as he does so. End of Act Two: Beginning of Act Three: ext: Pool Area: As resort guests lounge in the sun relaxing themselves and swimming in a very lengthily sized pool that's not very crowded, Buck looks to almost be headed straight for the camera with a determined look on his face, when: A man wearing a short cut rope and non-creased pants approaches Buck and quickly puts a hand on his shoulder. The Massage Therapist (the person with the hand on Buck's shoulder): "Sir, are you Buck Rogers of room 508?" The camera follows the two men as Buck doesn't look the least bit interested in the presence of the Massage Therapist. Buck: "I am, what about it?" Taking a breath, the Massage Therapist: "You and the grandson of the owner of this resort: Francis Fox. Numerous staff have seen you working together and you two seem too tense. [beat] I've been told to give free acupuncture and massages." The Massage Therapist looking around at the guests and taking his hand off Buck, Cont: "Where is the grandson Fox?" Buck: "He's off on important business, the same as I am." The Massage Therapist, still following Buck: "This is a place of relaxation Mr. Rogers. I'm a trained member of this resort's staff and nothing would please me more than helping you get rid of your aches and pains so you could have a better day. Let me help you out before you get on with your ultra important business; [beat] you won't regret it." Now Buck finally stops walking and looks to the Massage Therapist. Buck: "YOU'RE a member of the resort staff huh?" The Massage Therapist (bluntly): "Yes." Buck: "I think I will take you up on your offer before I do what I have to." Starting to walk backwards and motioning Buck to follow, the Massage Therapist: "Excellent, follow me." Cut to: int: Lobby: Fox heads over to a bulletin board that's almost blank but for a few written-on papers and thumb tacks. He holds up a blank sheet of paper and proceeds to write on it with a pen he quickly whips out of a pants pocket. Once satisfied with what he's written, Fox then grabs one of the board's unused thumb tacks and pins up his paper. Then Fox hurries out of the camera's view, obviously occupied with things on his mind. The camera cuts in close on the bulletin board to the paper Fox just pinned up. It reads, "Primitive weapons making and training of use: activity to be held in one hour in court left yard court, instructor: Hieronymous Fox". We hold on this for a beat before ... Cut to: int: Outside Room 3: The Massage Therapist is leading Buck towards a door labeled "3" by a plastic sign centered on it. Moving to one side and opening the door for Buck, Massage Therapist: "I'll be with you in another moment, but what I want you to do right now is go in there and remove your shirt, lie on the bed in there on your belly, while I go file the paper work." Buck moving into the doorway: "How long will this take?" Massage Therapist: "I'll be working on your shoulder and upper back muscles for an hour. That will be the most effective way to work out the tension, [beat] followed by acupuncture for an hour and a half." Shrugging his shoulders, Cont: "The paper work I have to do should only take max five minutes." Buck (showing concern): "You're going to be sticking me repeatedly with needles for an hour and a half?" Massage Therapist: "You've never had an acupuncture session before have you?" Buck: "No." Massage Therapist: "It will take me a minute or so to put the needles in. [beat] The rest of that time will be the needles doing their work on your deep tissue, that's how long it takes to do the job." Buck: "OK." Then Buck shuts the door and the Massage Therapist leaves the camera's view to where we saw him and Buck walk in from when this scene started. Cut to: int: Room 3: It's a cramped room with a massage bed in its center and cabinets to either side. There are a couple of feet only between the bed and the cabinets for movement. The lighting is dim and new age music is playing softly in the background. Buck (to himself sounding harsh): "You want to use me for a pin cushion huh?" And with that having been said he starts to glance around the room in jerks. He begins to root through the cabinets, pulling out each drawer as he does so. The camera cuts to focusing in on one drawer as he pulls it out. This drawer contains a glass jar containing the acupuncture needles and a smaller jar with darkened glass and a label. Buck takes out the smaller jar to examine it. The camera cuts on to him examining it. As Buck is staring at the label he's softly saying this line: "Bosyaud: a very deadly alien poison that's effective on most animal-type forms of life." Then the camera cuts to us seeing this scene in full again as Buck drops the bottle down to his side, clutching it tightly, before putting it in a pants pocket. He quickly looks to the door to the room putting a hand on his belt where the knife is. Cut to: int: Hallway: It's littered with doors to either side, room numbers this time indicate the rooms of guests. Fox is moving from door to door knocking to get the attention of the guests inside which he knows who's staying in each room due to an old-fashioned, hole-punched-repeatedly-to-either side computer paper printout he's glancing at when he needs to. After knocking on door 117, it opens to reveal a mid-aged woman glancing at Fox. Woman: "Yes?" Fox: "There's going to be a class in primitive weapons making and training of use activity to be held in one hour in court left yard court. Are you planning on attending?" Woman: "Why are you so interested to know what I'm doing in one hour?" Fox: "Oh, I'm the person teaching the class, and -an -." Woman: "You really want people to come since you've never done this sort of thing before, don't you?" Fox (drawn out): "Yes." Woman: "Is it going to be fun?" Fox: "Depending on your idea of it, I think -." The Woman pats him on the arm: "I'll try to attend." She shuts the door on him and after pausing for a beat he continues on to the next door he finds. He knocks on the door and without us even seeing the person, from inside the guest's room with the door open at a crack. V.O. Man: "I heard. I'm not interested. Goodbye!" The door is then shut fast as loudly as the Man can with it at only the crack. Fox is taken a back a little before moving on to the next door to continue his task. Cut to: int: Outside Room 3: The Massage Therapist has just come into the scene. He knocks on the door lightly. Massage Therapist: "Have you done as I asked? Are you ready for your session?" V.O. Buck: "Yes." The Massage Therapist opens the door to go inside and once he's behind it, it slams shut. Cut to: int: Room 3: Buck is pressing the Massage Therapist tightly against the door holding the knife close to the other man's chin. Buck (growling): "I found the Bosyaud and I know there are staff here that are Houten! How many are here and what are their names!" The Massage Therapist: "And why do you think you're clever? Why do you "think" there are Houten here? That Bosyaud proves nothing of what you suspect." Buck (growling): "The Houten EAT people and I'VE seen the bodies!" After a slight beat, Massage Therapist: "You're right, we do eat Humans." Buck (snapping): "Tell me what I need to know!" Another beat, as the Massage Therapist takes on a grin: "Everyone but the K9 named owner that didn't play in the game on the field earlier." Buck (snapping): "And what about the kitchen staff!?" The Massage Therapist: "They were the last of the Human staff but the two." Buck (growling): "Why!? Why here?!" The Massage Therapist: "It's TOO easy to kill Humans when they let their guard down and relax, believing they don't have a care in the world." Buck takes this in with a saddened face of distaste for a beat before lowering the knife, still holding on to the man tightly and slashing him across the chest. Then Buck lets go of the Massage Therapist, as he drops on to his knees holding the area that was just struck. Buck puts his shirt back on and takes the keys from the Massage Therapist's robe's pocket. Massage Therapist: "What are you going to do? You could have killed me, you still could!" Buck getting ready to head out the door: "You might have more information the Defense Directorate could use." As Buck opens the door, Cont: "I'm going to leave you here now." Then Buck leaves the room, leaving the Massage Therapist before on the floor looking slightly dumbfounded. Cut to: int: Outside Room 3: Buck shuts the door leading in Room 3 and taking out the set of keys, quickly finding the right key for the job. He locks the door and leaves the camera's view. End of Act Three: Beginning of Act Four: ext: Court Yard: Blankets are spread out on the lawn, filled with the makings of bows and arrows while on their sidelines sit guests of the resort: nine of them. Fox is pacing close by to them off the blankets. Fox looking to his class: "I'm ready to begin teaching unless, [beat] do any of you know if anyone else is coming for this?" Guest One picking up an unstrung bow and then looking at Fox: "I came to this activity for some fun, but you're talking about this like it's vital for us to do, why?" Fox: "Why do you think I think it's vital?" Guest One: "None of the other resort activities have not only a note of attention on the bulletin board signed by the staff member leading it but also that staff member you, going from room to room asking if they'd like to attend." Fox after a beat: "Can you keep something under your hat?" The camera cuts on to Buck approaching Fox with his class from the resort, as Fox unheard to us clearly is explaining to the class what is going on with the Houten. As Buck comes up to Fox, Buck: "Only the teams we played soccer with and your granddad aren't." Buck looking at Fox's class, Cont: "Who are these guys?" Fox: "Are you all in?" All the guests are grabbing their bow making supplies and Guest One grins at Fox with a nod. Fox to Buck, Cont: "They're our help. We're going to have a good old-fashioned hunt with bows and arrows." Guest Two: "I didn't watch you guys playing soccer earlier." She begins tightly wrapping the string to the bow at its top, Cont: "So we don't get the wrong people, who were the teams?" Guest Two glances to Buck and Fox, Cont: "There's a picture of your grandfather behind the check in desk so we already know what he looks like." Cut to: ext: Vehicle Pick-up Park: The camera follows one of guests "Guest Three" as he enters the large garage and lifts one arrow from a long pouch strapped to his side from strap running across his chest and over one shoulder. V.O. Fox: "None of the staff from the Vehicle Pick-up Park were there." Guest Three upon further entering the garage and catching sight of the mechanics and Car Renter pulls his arrow into his bow then aims it at them to their shock. They were just having a break drinking and flipping though magazines. Cut to: int: Office Hub: In a room with rooms built into one wall with glass showing their insides which consist of a desk and computer station, sit a staff member in each one. There are four of these and entering the scene are Guest Four and Guest Five, bows and arrows at ready. V.O. Buck: "The staff that do the booking for this place weren't there." One of the staff sees Guest Four and leaves her office to greet them. Booker: "Is there something wrong with your room you wish to complain about?" Guest Four raises the ready bow and arrow to be at eye level with her and her eyes widen into their Houten darkness. Cut to: ext: Sports Field: A grounds keeper is on a riding mower, fully at his work till noticing Guest One approaching him. V.O. Fox: "None of the landscaping staff were there." The Grounds Keeper stops the mower as Guest One withdraws an arrow to be ready for action in the same manner Guest Three did. Grounds Keeper: "Does it make you feel like not hurting me, that I don't find you that tasty to look at with the thought of dinner?" Guest One raises his bow to the Grounds Keeper. Cont (disappointed): "Guess not." Cut to: ext: Solar Powered Resort Main Complex: By the entranceway Buck and Fox are at ready to take on the valets. Buck with his knife and Fox with a bow and arrow. V.O. Buck: "The parking valets weren't there." And with Buck and Fox presenting their weapons at ready to the two men, both sheepishly raise their hands in surrender. Cut to: int: Hallway: Guest Six raises her bow and arrow at ready on one of the resort maids who was about to plug in a vacuum cleaner and stops in her tracks at the sight of Guest Six. V.O. Fox: "And that tall maid ol' grand pop hired early on and the janitorial staff were not there either." Cut to: ext: Outside the Solar Powered Resort Main Complex: Buck is in a phone booth that's nested a few yards from the entrance just past the awning and off the sidewalk. Buck to the phone he's talking into: "Hi Wilma, could you send some help over here?" A beat as Buck listens. Cont: "No there isn't any trouble, not anymore." Another beat, Cont: "No I didn't start it. It started with -." Buck takes a moment to think over what he's about to say. Cont: "Because the Houten managed to invade the resort and because I feel this needs to be further investigated by the Defense Directorate [beat] and because I think Fox found some good recruits." Buck smiles lightly as he finishes the line. End Of Act Four. The End. Roll Credits.
