Buck Rogers in the 26th Century Episode 213x "War cry" Written by: Erin Weinstock I don't hold any of the copyrights in this story, and this story was made without profit. Teaser: ext: Desert: Through a rocky desert terrain with a clear afternoon sky the camera keeps up pace with Hawk, who looks out of breath and like he's running for his life. We watch this for a few beats before... A spear soars from off camera into the scene and catches Hawk in his upper back. He falls with his face in the dusty ground, in too much pain; Hawk can't get up. Hawk's face goes pale with fear as grunting and animal-like screams are heard from off camera. The camera cuts on to a ridge of rocks off a small distance from Hawk. Buck, Wilma, Asimov and Goodfellow are coming over the ridge to the fallen Tangata manu. Only they don't look like themselves, but like cavemen with coarse hair completely covering their bodies in areas, and fangs sticking out from their lower lips. All carry spears but Buck. These Ape-people are what we now discover Hawk was listening to in terror a moment ago. As we now see the quartet gives out more animal-like war cries and grunts. The quartet heads over to Hawk and with a jolt of brute force, Ape-Asimov removes the spear from Hawk's back. The Ape-Asimov stabs the ground repeatedly around Hawk, letting out small cries as he does so. Then Ape-Asimov stabs the spear right before Hawk's face and starts to lift Hawk's head up by its feathers. Not tolerating the pain Ape-Asimov's grip is doing to him, Hawk with a groan of pain lifts as much of his upper body as he can from the ground. Ape-Asimov stares at Hawk for a beat before grunting towards Ape-Buck. Ape-Buck takes a stone carved dragger from off his side and joins Ape-Asimov in front of Hawk. With fear in Hawk's eyes he watches Ape-Buck draw the stone knife in close towards Hawk's head. Cut to: ext: Desert Plain: Across a lifeless, crackled ground Ape-Wilma drags Hawk with his hands bound high above his scraped featherless scalp, with a rope some nine feet long. Hawk looks to the bright sun over head, squinting at it as Ape-Wilma continues to drag him. And then their journey ends and Hawk doesn't even care to try and look towards Ape-Wilma as she begins to move him up a wooden pole about eight feet high. She ties the rope up as high as she can on the pole before moving away from it and letting Hawk slump over slightly to facing the ground. Ape-Wilma gives one strong grunt to Hawk and then leaves the camera's range of view to in the direction she and Hawk just came from. Hawk in a lethargic manner lifts up his head to look outwards and after a beat he squints his eyes once more only now to look at something far off camera. The camera cuts to being Hawk's POV. He's watching a hovering dark oval-shaped object high in the sky heading for his direction. Then cutting the camera off Hawk's POV we see him fight with the rope that has him bound to the pole. We watch this for a couple of beats before a shadow is cast over him and the pole. Hawk looks up still trying to break free of the rope. The large oval ship is now over his head, its bow visible, and contained within is a darkened circle. The camera cuts onto Hawk as we watch him scream and thrash about as wispy "speck" clouds lower on to him and consume him into nothingness. Cut to: int: Koori's Cabin: The room is a deep shade of violet which displays outer space beyond the ship this is taking place in. The scenes are basic but ever-changing, showing the direction the ship is going by an ever-moving line, showing stars and planets nearby showing movement of meteorites and comets: stars in white dots, planets in red dots, the ship's course in green and all other objects in brown. An enclosed computer center stands in the center of the room. A dresser rests against one wall with a mirror on top of it. There is a closet close by that is black and reflects the room around it. And a bed against another wall. Koori is in it and doesn't look to fit in with her surroundings, for she looks to be a flower of elegant beauty surrounded in a room that looks like it could be a thorn bush with no comfort to be seen in it at all, dark and ominous. Koori with a start shoots halfway up in bed, now awake, her face filled with fear. Pre-Credits: End of teaser: Beginning of Act One: ext: Space: Among nothing but stars we watch a ship push forward on a journey. It's a strange sight to see but we have seen a ship with a remotely similar look to it in the past: the Tangata manu ship last seen in Episode 27. This ship, its similarity is that it has the same glow and feathery wisps. Its look is like a crackled half-dome surrounded in a ring of feathery wispy objects, swarming in movement like cilia. Its body is a combination of an hourglass shape in its center with the same crackled look as the half-dome. Surrounding that are spaced out pillars, ridged in style that like the hourglass shape that they encompass, stretch from the bow to the stern. Electricity flutters around the pillars, jumping from one to the next randomly. The stern, which is twice the size of the bow looks to contain nothing but the feathery, wispy objects in too many to count, all wiggling like tadpole tails in fast beats. V.O. Oreit: "Commander, the course you've chosen for the fleet, we have no known enemies in that sector of the Milkyway Galaxy. The colonies of Thar, Tica and Tregg have refused to follow you orders due to this." Cut to: int: Tactics Room: It's a small room but its walls are covered in books. In the center of the room is a black table built into the floor, its top is a reading interface that can project 2D holograms of a non-gaseous state. Koori is up a ladder searching for a book. Below her on the ground standing is a crewman that's Tangata manu; in fact everyone on board this ship is Tangata manu. Koori: "There is, and we must face and exterminate it before it can come back at us to strike again." Oreit: "What or who could you be referring to? I haven't heard of an attack being made to any of the colony worlds." Koori has just found the book she was searching for. Looking to make sure she does this right she holds the book and looks down at the table. Then throws the book to down on to it. The book doesn't even turn a page from where she thumbed it open. Light flies out from the table to greet it on its descent, scanning its open inside. With a blow it hits the table, the written pages face down, and a hologram springs up into mid-air. The hologram in blue light shows enraged men wearing bear skins and holding boulders over their heads ready to strike at ancient Tangata manu cringing in fear. Koori: "They've evolved since the last time we saw them and they have made it to Throm, I'm told twice." Koori climbing down the ladder keeps her eyes on Oreit to get his reaction. Cont: "We can't let the Humans destroy who we are again; we have to strike at them before they get another chance at us." Looking sick, Oreit weakly shakes his head "yes". With Koori now standing before Oreit and after a beat, Oreit: "I'll inform the colonies of Thar, Tica and Tregg what we're going up against. [ beat ] Why it might convince them to join us in battle." Then Oreit just stares out into space and Koori looks at him with some wonder. Koori: "Is something wrong? Why haven't you left here to make the transmission?" Oreit (slowly): "I never thought when I joined I'd ever see a battle the likes of this [ beat ] or Earth." Koori puts a hand on each of Oreit's shoulders, Koori: "All of us have known one day it would come to this and that the plague that is humanity must be wiped clean of our ancestral home so we could once more thrive on it." She hugs Oreit quick then pulls away from him just as fast. Cont: "For our survival, Oreit please." Oreit nods his head lightly "yes," and leaves the room. Koori looking up at the hologram, V.O. Koori: "I might already be too late to have stopped them in hurting Hawk but at least this might work [ beat ] it should unless their forces are better than ours." Cut to: int: Hallway: Oreit walks briskly through this place; deep purplish brown with waves and vines of white energy wisping throughout it. As this scene begins another crewman in dress looking to be of the same rank as Oreit, is catching up to him. Ahed: "Oreit! Oreit, what are you about to do?" Oreit not even stopping in his brisk walk to turn to look at Ahed: "Carry out the commander's orders to transmit for reinforcements." Ahed runs to being in front of Oreit and in turn makes Oreit stop in his tracks due to the now blocked path. Cont: "Is something wrong?" Ahed: "You think everything is OK?!" Looking like he doesn't want to say this, Oreit: "She is our superior and knows far better what is good for us than we do." Ahed: "You don't look so sure about that." Oreit: "[ beat ] We heard nothing about the attack on Throm." Ahed (in a hushed tone): "And she wants to murder a whole species over it." Oreit: "We don't have any say in this." Ahed: "Yes we do." Oreit: "We can't, [ beat ] I won't and neither should you." Ahed: "Are you going to tell on me?" Oreit: "I'm going to follow my orders. You find out how the Humans attacked Throm." Ahed now backing away from Oreit to return from whence he came: "I only know of an "encounter" THAT "was" nothing. This might be too." Oreit looking back towards Ahed: "What do you mean by that?" But Ahed pays no mind to him and continues to walk farther away. Cut to: ext: Space / Asteroid Belt: At first all we can see here is a star field with Saturn close to the foreground. After a beat the screen flashes green and pinpoints of small green lights appear. The camera zooms further into the star field and still nothing new can be seen and Saturn has been well swept past out view. The small green lights however stay fixed on the screen. The camera goes even further into outer space still catching sight of nothing new. The little green lights still stay fixed in place. Then the camera zooms further still. This time it picks up new images, faint but new. The tiny green lights have now turned into rings of green light surrounding what looks like oddly shaped white stars. Still the camera continues to zoom further into deep space now. The green lit rings grow a little in size to accommodate the objects meant to fill them inwardly: the objects that now we can tell what they are, even though they still hold a very diminutive size on the screen. They are Tangata manu ships of war, they are fighters, most of which look like Koori's. At the bottom of the screen in small type a question mark appears. Then after a beat each time more typed text along the bottom of the screen appears, each new character being a different form of alien symbol that resembles a question mark. Cut to: ext: Greensboro Wild Dogs Boot Camp: In a forest with a trail leading away from what we immediately see, a troop made up of men, women and aliens wearing what looks to be military uniforms that are only meant for training, are watching a man trying to cross between two trees high up in the air by way of two suspended ropes side by side. The man busy at this task looks nervous, as not only does he have the duty to move himself across, but also a blaster-type weapon almost as long as his arm. Also directly below him sits a small pond with an animal in it that looks ready at any given moment to eat him. This animal being the fanged giant mud-skipper that's the kind we last saw in Episode Ten. At the front of the troop of trainees Asimov watches the man moving over the ropes with concern. Man on ropes: "Admiral, I'm not sure, [ beat ] I don't think I signed up for this." Asimov (shouting): "Do you regret enlisting with the Wild Dogs Division of the Defense Directorate? To be the toughest soldier you can be?" Man on ropes: "No." A woman wearing a uniform that shows that she's of low military ranking, has just jogged into view to join the group of trainees and Asimov from having come up the path that leads to here. Asimov (still shouting): "Then make it to the other side soldier!" The woman who just came into the scene goes to Asimov's side and the Man on the ropes continues with nervous movements to proceed on his journey down the ropes. Woman: "Admiral Asimov, an urgent transmission has been received requesting you communicate a response to it, sir." Asimov turns to the Woman. Asimov: "That depends who it is if I'll answer." Asimov then stares at the Woman with an expectant look. Woman: "Sir?" Asimov: "I'm waiting for you to tell me "WHO"." Cut to: int: Last Stand / Bottom Level: This place looks to be almost as dead and in ruins as we last saw it in Episode 27, only now it has a more cleaned-up look to it. Hawk is walking around looking in awe at an ancient Tangata manu spacecraft that appears to have only been built to hold two people. Nearby the craft, working with tools meant for electrical and mechanical manipulation on the craft is Goodfellow, wearing an outfit he has a device fitted into. Hawk also has the same device. Catching the attention of both men a robo-bird rushes past them, the robot itself taking no notice of them. The mechanical bird once into the clean of anything that could obstruct its path, takes a flying leap up to the entrance; top level of Last Stand. Goodfellow as fast as he can rushes over to a toolbox he's placed against a wall. All the while and to himself saying (softly): "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear." Hawk meeting Goodfellow in a rush at the toolbox: "Let me." Hawk lifts up from the toolbox a device which matches the ones Goodfellow and him are wearing. Then in a snap Hawk rushes with the device to the nearest stairwell. Hawk ready to make the ascent to the top level stops at hearing an echo of blaster fire and a half shriek from the mechanical bird which left the scene a short while ago. Followed shortly by falling to the floor of the bottom level and clanging against the Tangata manu craft among other objects, the remains of the robotic bird. Hawk directing his voice upwards into the complex and shouting: "Whoever you are, that wasn't necessary!" Buck pokes his head out over a guard rail on the top level of the complex. Buck (shouting): "It was going to attack me; and Hawk, I have some very interesting news for you. They're coming!" Hawk still directing his attention to the top floor where Buck is (shouting): "Who!?" Buck (shouting): "The Tangata manu!" Cut to: ext: Sky: Off the coast of California and about a mile high over the Pacific Ocean the two-person Tangata manu craft we saw earlier is flying towards the land not far away. V.O. Hawk: "They're coming to Earth? How can you tell?" V.O. Buck: "Why they're coming is something the Defense Directorate believes to be an urgent matter. Hawk, the Scientific Research Directorate spotted the ships coming this way and the Defense Directorate can only think of two explanations." End of Act One: Beginning of Act Two: int: Old Tangata manu Craft: Hawk sits in the cockpit of the craft at the steering controls, guiding the ship. Goodfellow sits in a seat once more in the cockpit but a yard away from Hawk. And Buck is leaning over Hawk's chair to talk to him. The mid and rear area of the ship have a faint transparency to them that lets us see the ocean and sky ever moving past them outside. Cont: "Have you ever heard of plans to return to Earth?" Hawk has a hardened look on his face and we know his thoughts are not pleasant at the moment. Hawk: "What sort of ships did they look like?" Buck: "You'd know better than anyone, Hawk. With the exception of the ship you brought from Throm and the [ beat ] what used to be called Unknown Eagles, we have no idea of what other types of ships your people use." Goodfellow: "Buck, I know of their ships too and so do the rest." Cont (slowly): "Of those who remain alive from the Searcher's crew." The look on Buck's face tells us we know something might be wrong. Buck: "Some have the look of an hourglass with feathery propellers at both ends. [ beat ] Others, the outline to a sand dollar with markings on the interior. Then smaller ones that look like they are -." Hawk: "It's an attack." Goodfellow: "Why now?" Hawk: "Is it possible yet to talk to any ships in the fleet, Captain?" Buck: "You haven't called me that in months. [ beat ] The Scientific Research Directorate has tried contacting them but they haven't responded." Goodfellow: "Hawk?" Hawk: "I can only guess with the ancient history shared between our peoples why it has, could come to this. If not that then I might solely be to blame." Buck: "Your position as judge on Throm?" Hawk: "Koori." Buck: "What's Koori?" Goodfellow turning to Buck: "Now may not be the time to discuss such things." Cut to: ext: Space: Koori's ship, the Zonan, is in the lead of numerous other Tangata manu military craft that tail it some distance behind. V.O. Ginur: "What are you doing?" Cut to: int: Zonan / Sorter Room: A Tangata manu looking to be of a rank close to Koori's is standing on a catwalk overlooking a glowing floor. The floor is littered with what appears to be hundreds of holes, each hole with an interface in its bottom unseen to us. What looks to be water moves in snaking small-tide movements across its surface. The tide waves move as if something is commanding them to choose destination holes on the floor. Cont: "Picah, the ship is operating at peak performance; if you're thinking adjustments need to be made I'd suggest speaking to Koori first." Picah pulls a long rod out from a pants pocket running along the side of one of his calves. Oreit enters the room, Picah: "The name is Dove." Then Dove flips a switch at the base of the rod and swings his arm with it out over the catwalk. And like musicians obeying a conductor at a performance, the water pushes out and away from where Dove just threw his arm out with the rod. The area is devoid of water now. Oreit (to himself): "You are from Throm." Ginur begins to break into a run intended to tackle Dove as he now stirs up the water into an insane frenzy but Oreit tackles him, knocking Ginur to the floor; lights flicker wildly in the room. Ginur turning to Oreit in anger: "Oreit!?" Dove makes a slamming motion with his rod and a wave of water splashes out of the floor littered with holes. The lights now look to be running on very little power. Cont: "Traitors, both of you!" Putting the rod back down into his pants pocket after turning it off, Dove heads over to where Oreit has trapped Ginur against the floor. Dove: "We're not traitors, Colonel; we're soldiers who know right from wrong." Ginur: "When Koori finds out about these acts of malicious mutiny you'll be thrown out of the military and disgraced before the public faster than you can blink!" Dove: "I am sure the command will find out about our actions here today but hopefully not until we've finished our mission." Dove looking to Oreit: "I didn't know you were with us." Oreit: "I've never had a problem with the Commander's orders until this, [ beat ] this doesn't feel right." Ginur (growling): "How many of you traitors are there?!" Oreit: "Colonel, your orders?" Dove pulls the rod out of his pocket and bangs Ginur on the head with it, knocking him out. Cut to: ext: Windsom Salem / House Backyard: A little girl dressed in a mock-up half-assed Defense Directorate fighter uniform is holding up a rock, joking like she wants to hit a little boy about her age, his skin covered in green makeup. They're on a kiddie playground center and their parents are watching them. The dad is holding a petite camcorder while doing so. Girl: "Earth's Defense will crush you! You are no match for us, Houten!" Boy: "But that's just a rock, you can't hurt me with just a rock." A shadow begins to move across the ground, catching the family's attention. Girl (in amazement): "The saucer ship will destroy you Houten!" The Boy gasps as a Thorcomen Defense Administration ship is passing by the house at least by thirty feet in the air. Cut to: int: Thorcomen Defense Administration Ship / Sim Room: Admiral Aleekeyta stands by a raised platform with lights above it, the platform having eight tiny robots hovering over it that look to be collections of cubes oddly bunched together with basic-shaped arms coming out to either side on them. As the scene starts Admiral Asimov is entering the room. Aleekeyta: "It's a pleasure to see you heeded my request for your presence here, Admiral Asimov." Asimov, making his way towards Aleekeyta: "I told you this would happen one day and I knew we'd see the day." Aleekeyta: "Confirmation has come from the Defense Directorate that they ARE warships." Asimov: "The new ships, how many have been produced so far?" Aleekeyta: "None." Asimov gives Aleekeyta a curious look. Cont: "Older ships were however given enhancements based on the information you gave me for the new ships." Asimov crosses his arms, Asimov: "In sim now. I'm not sure that was such a wise idea." Aleekeyta looks to the platform and the little robots react to her stare with knowing they're now ready to go into action. One half of the little robots shift around their body blocks to change shape into looking like "lego" birds. The other half of the robots shift their body blocks around to change shape into with the same boxy look to the mini Thorcomen Defense Administration fighters last seen in Episode 30. The robots move to either side of the platform making groups; one half birds, the other half mini fighters. Then a robot that is farthest away from the camera in bird form begins to shoot across the table, extending out its blocks to form a broader looking right wing than what it had before. A robot from the other side, one of the mini fighters, dodges the attack and with one of its eyes "zaps" the attacking ship in its extending wing, knocking off the hit building block. Now in a snap the other robot bird-fighters slant back their wings and dive towards the opposing robot team. They clash into a brawl of flying-off pieces with in the end only one survivor: one of the mini Thorcomen Defense Administration fighters. The little robot with if only guessed an expectant look coming from it, stares out at Aleekeyta and Asimov. Asimov: "I don't like those odds." Aleekeyta: "Neither does the Administration." Asimov: "You've brought me here so you might gain new knowledge as to a way to defeat the coming fleet?" Aleekeyta: "You have access to military resources I do not. You fought well during the war Earth held with the Saurians. YOU know of weaponry that was only made in prototype that the Defense Directorate publicly denies even exists." Asimov (grinning): "And I can still gain access to those prototypes." Aleekeyta turns to the platform with the still expectant robot hovering over it. Aleekeyta: "You don't need my permission to reform." Returning her attention back to Asimov, Cont: "And any help you might need if you have trouble with that, the Administration will quickly take care of." Behind Aleekeyta's back in a wild whirl-wind of speed we watch the robots put themselves back together again. Cut to: ext: Defense Directorate: V.O. Huer: "The hawk said nothing about this. Nothing!" Cut to: int: Hallway: The camera follows Huer just ahead of him at a fast pace. Ira and Dell are close behind Huer at his sides. Ira: "It is possible he was spying for them and told not to reveal plans of the attack." Huer: "No, that could never be right; he's almost like a member of the family, almost like a fighter for the Directorate. If you were right he would have never revealed they were warships. We would never have been given time to prepare for their coming." Dell: "Doctor there is some information I think you should know about our counterstrike when it happens." Huer: "That being, Dell?" Dell: "Admiral Asimov has been contacted by the Thorcomen Defense Administration. Word is they're going to execute their own plan to strike back at the alien fleet." Huer: "They're not aliens; rats, Asimov has no one he needs to answer to. I doubt he'll tell us anything of their plans." Suddenly Hawk blocks their path, as we see him from behind. The trio stops moving at this. Huer (shocked): "Hawk!" The camera pans around so we see Hawk before the camera and the trio from behind. As this takes place, Hawk: "Doctor, I know this is a time of great crisis, and everything in your Human instincts tells you you must strike back at my people. But for the love of peace you must not attack." End of Act Two: Beginning of Act Three: ext: Space: The Zonan is before the fleet which has slowed to almost a stop due to its lead ship. The Zonan's feathery propellers have become nearly inactive, the electricity between its pillars the same. The ship is barely moving. V.O. Stullack: "Commander Koori, please report your status." The camera pushes into the bow of the Zonan. V.O. Relios: "This is Captain Relios of the warbird Qeat. Commander Koori, does your ship require assistance my crew could lend?" Cut to: int: Bridge: This place is set up to show who's in power of command. A half-dome bulges outwards showing through it the space in front of the ship. Koori sits in a seat high above her crew here, which are only two others at stations they can sit down at. Stairways lead down from either side of Koori's point of lookout. Her eyes are closed and she looks irritated. V.O. Botoo: "Zonan, it appears you're suffering from an erratic power flow. Would you like my ship, the Kahi, to give you stabilizers and Flewatt?" Koori opening her eyes: "Lieutenant?" From her left side, below her, Lieutenant Palay: "We still can't respond to the incoming transmissions." Getting up from her seat, Koori: "That's it." The other crewman as Koori reaches the stairs on her left side to descend them: "Commander?" Going down the stairs, Koori: "We suffered no blow and nothing about this ship was at fault when this mission was at its start. [ beat ] Something foul has taken place and I intend to get to the bottom of it." Now on the lower level which provides a door to access the further interior of the ship, Koori is ready to leave here when Ginur enters the room. Koori: "Colonel." Ginur: "Commander, we have a problem." Koori: "Tell me something I don't know, like how to fix it?" Ginur: "After observing the behavior of more than what at first were only two crewmembers I'm not sure this will be an easy situation to take care of." Cut to: int: Corridor: The most of the crew of the Zonan have stiffly lined up, face outwards from both walls of this chamber. Koori, hands behind her back, walks forward looking at her crew as she does so, with Ginur a step behind her in following. Koori: "This voyage we are making into the Milkyway, our MISSION is to protect what is left of our species. If it wasn't due to clear evidence I would have never believed you would show me this -." The duo come to the end of the corridor and on a dime turn to face where it is they just came from. Cont: "Betrayal." Ginur: "How many of you here do not believe in our mission?" Koori and Ginur now begin to head back the way they came. Koori: "Speak up! It's for the good of us all for what must be done that you are revealed!" The crew are stone faced and portray nothing of their thoughts. Ginur: "Commander?" Koori: "Yes?" Ginur: "Vicah is not here." A crewmember near one end of the corridor steps out from the wall and aims a blaster at the duo. Crewmember One: "Diya, you're with us?" Diya (crewmember with blaster): "Over half the crew you see here." Koori: "You will lose your rank for this and be dismissed from the Protective Military if you continue this further." Diya calmly looks around at the crew giving an order without needing to say a word; after a half-beat... 90 percent of the crew of 20 people pin those not on their side to the wall of the corridor. Ginur: "You will never get away with this, Diya." Diya approaching Koori and Ginur, with his blaster still aimed on them: "I'd say the odds are more for my side than yours on who will be the victor of this mission." Diya backs them against a closed door; note not the one they were near when this scene began. Cont: "Move." Ginur: "There is nowhere left to go." Diya: "Except the next room." Koori: "Diya, I will make sure you spend the rest of your life on Tonly's ninth moon when this is over!" Diya (Falcon): "Falcon." Koori: "What!?" Diya: "My Earth-bird name." Falcon tightens his grip on the blaster's trigger, Cont: "Leave." Cut to: int: Buffer Room: This scene begins with showing Koori and Ginur have just been forced into being in here from the previous setting. Ginur tries to exit the buffer room by the door opposite the one they came in through. Ginur: "Its access has been locked." Koori tries the door they came in through in the same manner as Ginur with the other door. Koori: "This one too." From a speaker in a far up area on a wall of the room, V.O. Dove: "No need to worry for long, Commander -." Cut to: int: Bridge: Dove is sitting in the "from on high" seat Koori uses when in this setting. The camera moves in on Dove. Cont: "You'll be released from your confinement after I've made contact with Earth." Cut to: ext: Defense Directorate: Thomas: "The Transmitter is linked up to the network of monitoring probes; you may begin when you're ready." Cut to: int: Huer's Office: Thomas, Buck, Hawk, Huer, Dell and Ira are here and as this scene starts Huer is leaving his chair. Huer motions to Hawk to enter the chair. Hawk: "Are you sure?" Huer: "You need center seat for this." Hawk takes Huer's chair and hold of the pen-sized microphone last seen in Episode 25. With his mouth close to the mike, Hawk: "This is Halle, known to some as Hawk, known to all colonies as Throm's High Judge. I must speak to the Commander of your fleet." Buck to Thomas (whispering): "Should there be a delay?" Thomas (whispering): "It all depends if their listening." V.O. Dove: "Your mate is named Koori?" Hawk (emotional): "Yes and I miss her greatly." V.O. Dove: "Then her word of your death is false." Hawk looks shocked. End of Act Three: Beginning of Act Four: ext: Space: With Zonan in the lead, the Tangata manu fleet is now passing by Saturn. Zonan still doesn't look to be working at full power. V.O. Hawk: "Why would she claim I was dead?" V.O. Dove: "One moment, I want this conversation shared with the whole ship." V.O. Hawk: "Why would this be of -." Dove quickly interrupts. V.O. Dove: "Connected." int: Buffer Room: As Koori and Ginur listen to the conversion, Koori looks to be in a state of shock. V.O. Cont: "She claimed Humans have made two attacks on Throm within the last ten years and in the last attack you were abducted and killed." V.O. Hawk: "Two Human ships crash landed on Throm. [ beat ] I left of my own choice to protect our worlds." V.O. Dove: "She wants to destroy Humanity for you, Halle." Koori (softly and slowly): "He's alive." V.O. Hawk: "They have done nothing but treat me with kindness here on Earth." The screen rattles; the ship has been hit by a force unseen to us as we hear the distant quake of it. Cut to: int: Bridge: Dove gripping the command chair: "Who is striking out at us!" V.O. Hawk: "What is going on out there!" One of the crew below at a console taps a few buttons before him and one of the segments of the dome comes into the chamber in rays of holographic light like what was witnessed back in the Tactics room. What appears in the hologram is a ship that is a weapon: a massive "T" that lets us see its interiors to a degree through metallic bones that get interrupted in numerous places. A solid dome dotted with lights is sitting on the top of the "T", spires shoot up from it in too many to count, all with smaller domes topping them. The lower half of the "T" has only a few spires, these with no domes; these ones are collecting energy flowing up from a growing blue ball hovering a short distance from the ship. This collection of energy is then transmitted through the spires to a dish writhing in it. On one arm of the "T" is a harmless back end that's capped. On the other end is what must be feared: the protected long snout, its sides layered in metallic scales that range from being the length of a football field to the size of a small car at the tip. Dove in awe, standing up: "For being people to be trusted -." V.O. Hawk: "I am with the people who defend Earth, we're on standby." Dove: "Your friendly Humans have shot at us." V.O. Koori: "Hawk?!" V.O. Hawk: "Koori?" Dove: "Your mate is being held captive until this is resolved." Cut to: int: Huer's office: Everybody that was here last is still here, but Thomas who is no longer needed for the scene. Huer: "Asimov." Hawk turning away from the microphone so no one on the other end of it can hear him. Hawk: "So Humans are attacking the fleet." Buck: "With use of the TDA." Huer: "We can't afford to make another enemy, Hawk." Cut to: ext: Space: The Weapon ship fires again at the Zonan and she banks the opposite direction from where the shot hit her. One of the sand dollar ships of the fleet near its front, fires at the Weapon ship, blasting off two of its domes atop the spires. The Weapon ship fires, lifting the last set of scales at its tip to do so back, destroying the sand dollar that just fired upon it. V.O. Dove: "We could destroy your gun ship in a heartbeat." Cut to: int: Huer's Office: Hawk: "We heard the exchange of fire, what took place?" V.O. Dove: "One of our ships was destroyed." Buck races out of the room, Dell: "Captain Rogers?" V.O. Dove (softly): "Maybe she was right all a long." Hawk: "We don't want war with you!" V.O. Dove: "Whose side are you on, Halle?" Hawk: "[ beat ] The non-aggressor." Cut to: int: Bridge: Dove is staring in hard towards the view he is given of space. Dove: "An attack ship?" Another window segment projects a hologram into the room. This new hologram being a Z-87 that is positioning itself between the Weapon ship and the Zonan. Cut to: ext: Space: The camera moves in on the Z-87, which lets us see Buck through its canopy. Buck: "I'm a survivor of the second crash landing of an Earth ship on Throm. I mean neither the fleet harm or the Gun Ship." V.O. Dove: "What do you want, Human?" Buck: "For us all to sit down and talk this all out [ beat ] on Earth." Cut to: ext: Easter Island / Shoreline: Through Koori's POV we see she's looking at one of the famous moai about ten feet away. After a beat ... Off Koori's POV we now see her Hawk by her side, and Huer off a small distance with Aleekeyta by his side. Buck, Dove, Ginur and Diya are wandering around in the background, talking in voices we cannot hear. Koori: "Can they at least be torn down? They -." Hawk: "I know, they are reminders of who conquered us long ago." Hawk swiftly turns his attention to Huer and Aleekeyta. Hawk: "As part of the agreement could they be torn down?" As he said that he pointed towards the moai Koori was looking at. Huer (raising his voice so Hawk and Koori can hear him): "All of them?" Koori turning her attention on Huer: "All of them and no further attacks from Locker Agot technology and [ beat ] an exchange." Hawk to Koori: "Of what?" Koori kissing Hawk: "Information."
