Buck Rogers in the 26th Century Episode 211x "Feather Dusted" Written by: Erin Weinstock I don't hold any of the copyrights in this story, and this story was made without profit. Teaser: ext: New Chicago / Transportation Directorate: It's a fat and tall building with shuttle parks in levels higher up looking well constructed. A few of these shuttle park levels look like they were built to take in very large ships. On the screen we read "2479," this type disappears after a few beats. V.O. Tur Invader One: "Surrender to the Tur-Fog Empire! We'll take over your control, Earth's transport and its coming resources!" Cut to: int: Transportation Directorate / Entrance Lounge: A man sits at a reception desk looking completely relaxed and unconcerned by the Tur standing before him. A Tur: its appearance being seven feet tall, having wrinkled flabby skin covered in thousands of spots, along with a pot belly. Its lower lip comes out to meet its upper not lip but an almost flat beak. In an odd sense you could call this a featherless turkey with arms instead of wings. Reception Desk Guy One (in a lazy tone of voice): "I'm going to surrender to someone without a weapon?" Tur Invader one looks at itself before returning its gaze to Reception Desk Guy One. Tur Invader One: "I'll get one! I'll be back; you'll surrender to the Tur-Fog Empire then!" Cut to: int: Transportation Directorate / Entrance Lounge: On the screen we read "2481," this type disappears after a few beats. The same man sits behind the reception desk a little older. The wall behind him is a new color and another Tur stands before him. This Tur is holding an alien blaster. Reception Desk Guy looks no more excited than when we last saw him. Tur Invader Two: "Surrender to the Tur-Fog Empire! We'll take over your control, Earth's transport and its coming resources!" The Reception Desk Guy One gives the Tur an expecting look. Tur Invader Two looks to understand what Reception Desk Guy is implying and fiddles with his weapon to try to fire it. Reception Desk Guy: "You don't know how to fire it do you?" Tur Invader Two to Reception Desk Guy one: "You will be conquered! The Tur-Fog Empire will return for it!" Cut to: int: Checkpoint One: On the screen we read "2487," this type disappears after a few beats. At a security checkpoint four employees are taking the alien blasters from a group of seven Turs. Cut to: int: Transportation Directorate / Shuttle Park Level Two: On the screen we read "2499," this type disappears after a few beats. A group of sixteen Turs is being surrounded by employees coming into view. There are more employees than Turs; the employees outnumber the Turs five to one. The Turs look about, unsure what to do. None of the Turs are carrying weapons. Cut to: ext: Transportation Directorate / Shuttle Park Final Level: On the screen we read "2510," this type disappears after a few beats. A Tur ship lands. The camera cuts in close on the ship; a Tur holding a blaster begins coming out from a sliding door. Before the Tur can fully emerge from the ship its attention is drawn to looking up. A shadow has coated the scene. The camera cuts to directly above the Tur ship. Another ship is landing on it. Cut to: int: Transportation Directorate / Entrance Lounge: On the screen we read "2519," this type disappears after a few beats. Another man sits behind the reception desk and another Tur stands before him. This Tur has no weapon. Tur Invader Three: "Surrender to the Tur-Fog Empire! We'll take over your control, Earth's transport and its coming resources!" Reception Desk Guy Two: "I've been told about you guys. Um, I'd like to note something to you that I'm sure you've been told in the past. [ beat ] You don't have a weapon and I'm not threatened by you in the least." Tur Invader Three: "You are invaded by us! The Empire's enforcers have weapons in here!" Reception Desk Guy Two: "Sure you do." Cut to: int: Huer's Office: Huer is sitting at his desk inspecting papers that have been piled on it. As he's doing so once in a while he's mouthing what he's reading. Theopolis: "Doctor Huer." Huer not looking from his work: "Yes Doctor Theopolis?" Theopolis: "Doctor Huer, I have some [ beat ] urgent news for you. [ beat ] The Tur-Fog Empire has invaded the Transportation Directorate." Huer looks out from his papers with a look of shock mixed with confusion. End Teaser Pre-Credits: Beginning of Act One: int: Holographic Training Simulator: Wilma wears a breathing mask before a group of fifteen trainees all wearing the same. In the center of the room hovering by a few feet is a hologram showing a one person Draconian fighter ship. Wilma: "Can anyone here identify what this ship is?" Trainee One: "Houten?" Wilma: "You're interested in your duties but haven't been studying. No this ship isn't Houten in origin. This ship is Draconian; one of their standard one person fighters." Trainee Two: "Shouldn't we be more concerned with what Houten ships look like?" Wilma: "To the Defense Directorate's knowledge, Compart Defense and T.D.A. there's almost never a sure fire way at first to tell if a ship is Houten or not. They use technology from species other than themselves. Most of the time peaceful species we wouldn't normally see as a threat." Wearing a gas mask Buck runs on to the scene with a holstered blaster showing at his side. Wilma and the trainees take notice of this. Cont: "Buck what's the matter? Is something wrong?" Buck: "The Transportation Directorate has been invaded by the Tur-Fog Empire; I think we're going to need all available fighters for this!" Buck turns his attention to the trainees. Trainee Three turns to one of her comrades: "Hey this might be fun." And even though that last line wasn't directed towards Buck he heard it and, Buck: "Those of you that are more experienced, I mean everyone that's available. Everyone that's qualified." Wilma: "Doctor Huer already told me about the quote unquote Tur invasion. Buck for once I wouldn't worry if I were you. I doubt the rumor is true." Buck gives Wilma a look that says “you can't be serious". Trainee Four: ""He's" a trained, graduated fighter pilot, Colonel Deering?" Wilma (in a compassionate tone): "Buck, the Tur aren't a threat. [ beat ] They'd like to believe they are but they aren't." Trainee One: "Everybody knows that, even us." Buck: "Then why would we be alerted to them as a threat then?" Wilma: "My bet is it's a joke my brother is pulling on us. Remember he works for the Transportation Directorate?" Buck glares at Wilma. Cont: "Don't glare at me; I wasn't questioning your memory. I just don't think you should go all gung-ho over this." Trainee Five raises a hand, Trainee Five: "Colonel Deering, permission to leave class -." Cracking up, Cont: "I want to help Captain Rogers take down the menacing, evil Tur invaders. I want to see a trained fighter in action." Wilma (softly): "Class is nearly over for today and since this won't harm you." Cont (normal tone): "Buck, it's a field trip, [ beat ] nothing more." Wilma to her class, Cont: "Anyone else here feel like taking a break?" Cut to: ext: Transportation Directorate: V.O. Buck: "Busy day." V.O. Trainee Five: "A way to ditch class." Cut to: int: Transportation Directorate / Entrance Lounge: Buck, Trainee Five and another trainee we'll call Trainee Six are in here but nobody else. Buck turns to Trainee Five: "This might not be as much a breeze as you think it is. There might be real danger here." Trainee Six: "Nobody is here." Buck motioning with his blaster towards a door leading to the building's further interior: "We'll see." Just as the trio has come to within a yard of the door Buck had just motioned to, a Tur in a sluggish manner moves through it with a drooping blaster. Buck eying the Tur: "What the?" This Tur looks to be around five feet tall, snaps at Buck and the Trainees (fast): "Who are you with?!" Buck (slowly): "Earth's Defense Directorate." Another blaster toting five foot Tur enters the room from the door that leads to the interior of the building. Young Tur One (the one who just spoke): "Why are you here?!" Buck (slowly): "Are you guys members of the Tur-Fog Empire?" Another blaster toting five foot Tur enters this room from the interior of the building. Trainee Five noticing this: "Um Captain Rogers?" Young Tur One: "You've heard of us?!" And yet another blaster toting five foot Tur enters the scene from the interior of the building. Note none of them have the look to their movements like they're ready for a fight. Trainee Five to Trainee Six in a whisper: "They may not be a threat but they're making me uneasy." Trainee Six (whispering): "Same." Buck: "You've invaded this Directorate, so we've been told. [ beat ] If that's true I'm sorry but you'll have to leave." Buck points out his blaster, Cont: "With force if needed." Young Tur One moving in a sway from foot to foot, glaring at Buck and the Trainees: "You are our enemy then! You want us to give up our long awaited award! You will be our captives!" All at once all four Turs turn their blasters on our trio; now looking ready to shoot. Buck looks around at the situation. Buck: "[ beat ] OK so you've got us out numbered. I've been told this still isn't a bad thing." Young Tur One: "why not?!" Trainee Five (in a snobbish tone): "Because you can't even fire your guns." Young Tur Two gives Trainee Five a shot of blaster fire to his chest that sends Trainee Five into a fall landing him onto another Young Tur behind him. Young Tur Two: "We know how to fire our weapons! Do you want another demonstration?!" Young Tur Two points its blaster to Trainee Six. Buck: "No no we don't need another demonstration." Buck starts heading over to the fallen Trainee but Young Tur Three blocks his path. Cont: "He's hurt; we need to leave here so he can get treatment." Young Tur One: "You and them, you're our captives, you will not leave!" Buck turning to Young Tur One: "He might die!" Young Tur One: "Do you still want us to abandon our reward?!" Buck takes on a hurt look like he's not sure what to do next as the Young Turs surround our trio. Cont: "Then you will be our captives! We will not abandon our reward!" The Young Turs force Trainee Six holding Trainee Five half way up, and Buck into the further interior of the building through the door the Turs came in here through. The camera cuts in close on the wounded Trainee. Cut to: int: Control Room: This is the kind of room that in our time would be used for air traffic control, only now in the 26th century it's used for space ships. It's filled with young Turs toting blasters all of a similar look. They're running the scene in here like they've known for years what to do in a place like this. Only a few Turs aren't taking care of the duties related to this room and those Turs have blasters trained on this room's only real employees. We watch this scene for a couple of beats before... Cut to: int: Hallway: A group of young Turs, a massive group of Turs, blasters at ready are chasing a fleeing Crichton series ambuquad down the hall. We watch this for a couple of beats before... Cut to: int: Restroom: A line of young Turs have blasters trained on each stall in this place. Some open, some not, with a sideways view. They've trapped the employees in the stalls. We watch this for a couple of beats before... Cut to: int: Office Hub: This room is filled with cubicles and once more young Turs dominate the scene. Once more looking around this place we get the impression they've known forever how to work in a place like this. Once more the real employees are being forced to set aside their duties due to the Turs holding them at gunpoint. The camera cuts on to a Tur not looking too happy about the cramped space that is its cubicle. It pushes against the wall it's not wild about and much to the alien's disappointment it doesn't go away. The Tur fires its blaster at the wall and the wall with a blast hole falls outwards into the next cubicle. Another Tur, this one on the next cubicle over sips from a mug then looks at the fallen wall halfway on it, then to the Tur who had made the wall fall. The Tur with the mug glares at the other. V.O. Buddy: "They're clever; I'll give them that much credit. But smart, [ beat ] that's a credit I'm still in debate over." Cut to: int: Office: This is an enclosed office; a normal office, not some plastic box cubicle like in the last scene. Our trio is on the floor. Trainee Six is crying as Trainee Five takes shallow breaths propped up against him. Buck's eyes are fixed on two young Turs blocking their only exit and Buddy Deering is sitting by Buck's side. Note only the young Turs have blasters. Buck: "You know you just made that comment in front of them?" Buddy: "So long as we do as they say, we won't get harmed." Buck looks to Buddy in shock. End of Act One: Beginning of Act Two: int: Office: Everybody is where we last saw them at the end of Act One. Trainee Six: "How - how did this happen!?" Buddy shrugging his shoulders: "They're Turs, go figure." Buck (in a fast whisper): "I'd never heard of their species before today and on the way over here I was told they're not very bright and that's why people were laughing at me." Buddy grins at Buck. Buck turning to look at the two Turs in the room again: "How did you invade this place?" Young Tur Three: "That knowledge dispensed might foil our plans! You do not need to know that knowledge!" Buddy looking in bliss to Buck: "You know Buck, can I call you Buck? Wilma has told me so much about what you guys do at the Defense Directorate. I feel like I know everything that goes on in there. Day to day and on missions. [ beat ] I bet knowing what I know that the Defense Directorate would never have thought up a plan of takeover as marvelous as what our friends here from the Tur-Fog Empire have come up with." Buck for half a beat just stares at Buddy with a look of "you've got to be kidding me" before changing it to a grin and a look of understanding. Buck: "Gee it's a shame they want to keep the details of this outstanding act all to themselves. I'm sure the Defense Directorate would love to hear -." Buck is broken off in his speech by... Young Tur Four: "That information is not to be dispensed to you! It might foil our plans! That information is forbidden!" Buddy turning to the Turs: "Oh that has nothing to do with what we're talking about. You don't have anything to worry about from us." Buck: "What you've done here, why it was such a brilliant plan that we had never thought of it. [ beat ] My superiors, I bet they'd love to know what you have done here. [ beat ] How you did it. I bet your plan of battle could work so well for bringing peace to planets in dire need of help." Young Tur Three: "Our plan would not ever serve you! You do not lay eggs! You are mammals!" Buck: "[ beat ] Not all of us. We do have fighters who are reptilian and avian in nature." Young Tur Three: "You have birds as fighters too?!" Buck: "Oh yeah, strong willed and feather endowed." Young Tur Four: "They have feathers!!" Young Tur Four turns to Young Tur Three: "Turs with feathers, they're noble, fine soldiers, the best! They would serve the Defense Directorate well in helping the meek!" Young Tur Three: "We share for our feathered Tur!" Young Tur Four: "We share for our feathered Tur!" Buddy (sounding a little inpatient): "Well?" Cut to: ext: Space: A planet is shown to be covered 80 percent of the way in water with oddly shaped island-looking continents dotting it. V.O. Young Tur Three: "By 2511 the Empire was tired of failing so a new plan came to be!" Cut to: ext: Tur Home world / Rallying Field: On a massive field with short cut grass we see what looks to be somewhere close to a hundred jumbo giant-sized bird eggs, lined up in rows, all faced towards a platform with a seven foot Tur holding what looks like a 1920's microphone. The Tur is speaking out to the crowd of eggs but we can't hear it. V.O. Cont: "So the Empire gathered us stock of excess in shell from every city-state and told us our mission for once we hatched!" Cut to: ext: Transportation Directorate / Shuttle Park Final Level: Emerging from a massive ship that could only be paled by Kane's ship last seen in Episode 19, we see an alien that appears to be fifteen feet tall. Its head and neck appear to be one, giant flabs of fat sagging around down over its body almost covering feet that would look right at home on an elephant. Its arms have no show of bones and hold a tube-like appearance. Four, two foot long fingers come from each "hand," once more showing for a lack of bones for how they're shaped. It has little purple eyes, no nose and a wide mouth. V.O. Cont: "The Tur-Fog Empire hired outsiders to place us in here! We wouldn't have been welcomed here otherwise!" Cut to: int: Cafeteria: The mammoth-sized alien enters this place and everybody who sees the beast tries to politely flee the room. The alien puts a Tur egg out from a flab of fat hanging from one side of its belly. Then the alien accesses a Phasoft-door and gently sets down the egg behind it. V.O. Cont: "We were hidden through out here!" A montage of seven quick shots on doors that presumably lead to places like closets. V.O. Cont: "We listened to this place and learned in full of its operations while still shell-bound! Never forgetting our orders we'd one day fulfill!" Cut to: int: Control Room: The same mammoth-sized alien we saw just before the montage is here again, only now its skin has a raisin-like texture to it. It's making everyone who should be here flee again in its presence as it has just entered this room. Again the alien pulls an object out of its gut, only this time it's a box that looks to be of a medium size. The alien stuffs the box in the same closet we saw it stuff the egg it put there years before. As this line is said the scene we are seeing cuts to being in the closet. V.O. Cont: "Years now, grown to our now size! Our help knew when we'd break free of our shells and the Empire knew this too!" The massive Tur egg is cracking. A Tur hand then arm reaches out from the shell and into the box. The Tur pulls an alien blaster out from the box. V.O. Cont: "We were provided what we needed for this!" Cut to: int: Office: Our group is staring in disbelief at the Turs with Young Tur Three pointing a blaster at them. Cont: "Will that help your feathered Turs!?" Buck at first trying to find the right words to say: "If I could tell them what you've done it would." Young Tur Four now aims its blaster towards our group. Young Tur Four: "Nice try but only Tur may send transmissions! We are not dumb!" The camera cuts in close on Trainees Five and Six. Trainee Six: "How are you feeling?" Trainee Five (weakly): "It hurts so much I want to sleep." Trainee Six: "Don't sleep." Trainee Five (still in a weak voice): "I'm trying." Trainee Six turning to Buck: "You're a fighter; you're one of the best, so why is it we can't scram?" Buck: "They outnumber us by too much. We're going to need help -." Buck looks ashamed. Cont: "We'll find a way." Cut to: int: Power Generator Center: This place looks a lot like the one in the Defense Directorate only smaller. No Red Bots can be seen but one employee looking dumbfounded by the scene before him. One lone young Tur is in a fighting stance, looking like it wants to fight off a group of eight Turs standing before it. Young Tur Five (the Tur in the fighting stance): "I will defend Eddie! You shall not harm a single hair on him!" Young Tur Six waves its blaster back and forth between Young Tur Five and Eddie. Young Tur Six: "Eddie is of the Transportation Directorate; Eddie must be held captive by us!" Young Tur Five (at the top of its lungs): "You are all traitors to Eddie! I will defend him to my last breath!" Eddie takes on a warm look about Young Tur Five's defense of him and walks over to Young Tur Five. All the Turs but Young Tur Five point a blaster towards Eddie. But Eddie doesn't seem concerned in the least about their actions. Eddie gently to Young Tur Five: "Tur could you do me a favor? It's very important." Young Tur Five: "Anything for you Eddie!" Eddie: "Tell them you have me captive." Young Tur Five: "You want to be captive?!" Eddie: "Only by you." Young Tur Five to the other Turs: "Eddie is my captive!" Young Tur Six: "But you do not act with the Empire's wishes on him!" Young Tur Five looks to Eddie with a look of pity. Eddie into an earhole of Young Tur Five (in a whisper): "Say you are acting on the wishes of the Empire." Young Tur Five to the other Turs: "I am acting on the wishes of the Empire for Eddie!" Cut to: int: Hallway Outside of the Power Generator Center: Young Tur Five comes into this scene from a Phasoft-door that leads to the Power Generator Center. Its expression is drooping and so is its blaster. The Tur turns around to face the door a few feet from it and readies the blaster to shoot, but that doesn't seem to be what the Tur wants to do. A few other young Turs march down the hall at gunpoint making a few employees go ahead of them. Eddie comes out of the Phasoft-door and looking at Young Tur Five: "Thank you." Young Tur Five in whimpering body language and voice: "Why!?" Eddie: "So we can get help." Young Tur Five: "We do not need help!" Eddie: "Do you want to help me?" Young Tur Five: "Anything for you Eddie!" Eddie: "What may help me may also help you my friend." He says putting a hand gently on the Tur. Young Tur Five: "What might that be Eddie!?" Eddie: "We need to get the Defense Directorate here. They'd be able to help us." End of Act Two: Beginning of Act Three: int: Information Exchange Central: It's a round room with a touristy feel to it with floating TV screens in slide show showing places on Earth and other planets up high. In the center of the room floats a massive diamond-like object that can move sections of its surface when needed. It acts as a sensor to understand currency exchange. How this machine acts is an individual would hold up into its view an amount of foreign money they would like to exchange for Earth money or even money used on other planets. The crystal on its widest surface would then parrot the money image it just saw. Then on a lower set of surfaces spinning we see currency from many different planets, showing the changing worth of value with each currency, none from the planet's money shown on the above currency. A person would then say the name of the desired planet currency and at the bottom tip of the crystal it would shoot a laser beam into a dark platform with a sliding panel in its center. Opening up on the platform the sliding door produces the desired currency. From one entrance way of the room we can see a troop of at least ten or fifteen Turs looking in a foul mood, toting blasters. From an entranceway opposite we can see Young Tur Five and Eddie enter the room. The camera focused on the group of Turs. Young Tur Seven: "There are rogues here; are you with us!" The camera quickly pans over to Young Tur Five and Eddie. Young Tur Five: "I am with you!" Panning the back to the group, Young Tur Seven: "What are you doing with that Human!?" Panning the camera back to Young Tur Five and Eddie, Young Tur Five: "Ta -taking him to where no one lives!" Eddie looks curious to Young Tur Five. The camera pans into midway through the room as the group crosses over to Young Tur Five and Eddie. Young Tur Seven: "Keep your eyes out for rogues soldier; they aren't with our cause!" The group salutes Young Tur Five and Eddie as they move through the entranceway and out of the room. Once the group is well gone, Eddie: "Rogues?" Young Tur Five as they move across the room to the other entrance: "I believe I'm one of them!" Eddie: "Do you always have to sound excited when you talk?" Young Tur Five: "How else would I state what I must state!?" Eddie: "Since you believe you're a rogue you might want to keep your voice down. The others might kill you, they have guns too." Young Tur Five: "Is this better?" Eddie: "Much better, um "Where no one lives"?" Young Tur Five: "Where we'll call for help." Eddie: "About being a rogue, why are you? Why are you different?" Young Tur Five: "I wasn't given orders." Eddie: "Kind of strange they'd put you up for battle then?" Cut to: ext: Tur Home world / Rallying Field: At first the camera is right where we saw it last and with the same exact scene of a Tur with a microphone speaking out to a crowd of large eggs. The camera swiftly pans forward through the massive clutch of eggs to then rest on an egg in the back row. V.O. Young Tur Five: "They thought I heard the orders." Cut to: int: Hallway Outside of the Administrative Operations Room: The camera is focused on a door labeled "Administrative Operations". V.O. Getous: "This is most unusual, Mr. Allens. How is it you're here? And most curious, not at gunpoint by your captor?" Cut to: int: Administrative Operations: The room with use of different colors we'd call it "Huer's Office". But this isn't his, it's just the Transportation Directorate's version of it. No one is here but Young Tur Five, Eddie and the Transportation Directorate's version of Doctor Theopolis built into a wall: Getous. Eddie: "I'm here to call for help from the Defense Directorate. [ beat ] Getous, they've finally done it; the Tur-Fog Empire has finally taken over this place. I think the Defense Directorate might be our only prayer." Getous: "Your captor is with you, Mr. Allens. I'm afraid I can't help you with what you want." Young Tur Five: "Eddie can call for help, I'm rogue." Getous: "Well that explains a lot but I'm afraid I still can't call the Defense Directorate for help." Eddie: "Why not?!" Getous: "They're already here but my sensors haven't detected them since shortly after they arrived." Eddie: "Do you have any idea from your last detecting sensor swipe where they might be now?" Getous: "No, the lack of sensor input has nothing to do with their location. The lack of sensor input has to do with disconnected interfaces throughout the Transportation Directorate." Looking discouraged and turning to Young Tur Five, Eddie: "Great, so now what can we do?" Young Tur Five and Eddie turn their attention towards the door as they hear blaster fire ringing from beyond the room. Cut to: int: Hallway Outside of the Administrative Operations Room: Buck looking battered is holding a Tur blaster at ready, his other hand is cuffed around a small metal box he's toting like a football. He's moving down, quick to one side to avoid blaster fire being projected his way. He fires his blaster forward to off camera and in a snap... The camera at the sound of a shriek cuts on to a Tur who's dropped its blaster and with both of its hands is clutching a bleeding leg in pain, crying out in a way that only a well-throated bird can. Buck moves over to it and takes its blaster away from it. As he does so, Young Tur Eight: "Don't take it, I need it, you are my captive!" Buck then pushes the Tur against the wall: "I could have done much worse because of what you and your friends have done to this place." Young Tur Eight: "I have called for reinforcements!" Buck (smiling and we, the audience, know he's lying): "Funny you should say that, because before I bumped into you I did the same." Young Tur Eight: "What!?" From the Phasoft-door that leads into the Administrative Operations Room, one of Eddie's hands is holding a white piece of paper flapping it back and forth. Buck noticing this last noted action: "What?" Cut to: int: Administrative Operations: Buck tentatively enters the room with one blaster at ready, one in a holster on his side and the small box in the other hand. Buck doesn't see Eddie or Young Tur Five until... Getous: "Well you were rather quick to give up." The camera's view widens and swings out to one side, the side of the room Buck wasn't looking at a moment ago. Now we see the three others in the room, with Getous who's built into the wall being one of the trio. Eddie puts out a friendly hand for Buck to shake. Eddie: "I thought you were a bad Tur." Getous: "You Humans." Buck takes Eddie's hand and inquisitively looks to Young Tur Five. Eddie noticing Buck look: "It's with us." Buck: "How?" Young Tur Five: "Eddie gives my orders." Eddie looking like he wants to blush: "I've been working solo in the generator room for years." Buck: "Oook." Getous (quickly): "How much of the Transportation Directorate has been restored to its normal operations?" Buck: "None." Getous: "You are of Earth's Defense Directorate are you not?" Buck acting not too happy about the predicament at the moment: "NO one thought this was really going on here at the Defense Directorate. And only a couple trainees came with me here; one of them has been shot." Buck shows the little box to them, Cont: "He needs medical attention beyond what I'm sure this kit can provide AND reinforcements, there's too many of you guys here." As Buck finishes that last sentence he looks to Young Tur Five. Eddie to Getous: "See we still need to call for the Defense Directorate!" Getous: "[ beat ] I'm - I'm sorry." Eddie: "About what?" Getous: "They locked out my communication functions from my main processor. [ beat ] I can't transmit to anywhere unless the leader of the Tur-Fog invasion personally activates the circuit itself." Buck (to himself): "It really only can be done by Tur." Eddie: "What did you just say?" Buck: "I heard from a Tur only a Tur is capable of making a transmission. [ beat ] I didn't want to believe that was true." Young Tur Five: "Let me handle it!" Eddie: "What did I just tell you about your tone of voice?" Young Tur Five: "Let me." Buck: "You can't, didn't you just hear? Only your leader can make a transmission." Young Tur Five hoping lightly from foot to foot in excitement: "Let me ask the leader, I'm Tur, the leader will listen to me." Eddie: "You'd better not let on that you're a rogue then." Young Tur Five smiles. Buck to Young Tur Five: "Could you ask your leader to let all the hostages go?" Young Tur Five looks expectantly at Eddie for an answer. Eddie: "You can follow his commands too." The camera cuts in close on Young Tur Five smiling. End of Act Three: Beginning of Act Four: int: Counsel Room: The room is meant for Directorate meetings and it shows its nature to this by a long table with many chairs lining it. Many Turs fill this room, all of them young but one, Tur Invader Three. It's standing on the table wearing an outfit made of multiple robes of multiple shiny leathers. But we can't see any of that right now. We can only see Young Tur Five's face; the bird-like alien is no longer smiling. It's frowning and looking deeply worried. The camera cuts to Young Tur Five's POV. Tur Invader Three: "Unlike you I wasn't hatched yesterday! I won't do anything unless I know explicitly why it has to be done! Answer!?" The camera cuts to letting us now see a wider shot of the room. Young Tur Five: "I believe it to be right." Tur Invader Three: "You do not talk with strength in your words! You do not mean what you say!" Cut to: int: Hallway Outside of the Counsel Room: Buck ear to the door has a blaster at ready to fire. V.O. Young Tur Five: "Release the hostages; it is the right thing to do!" V.O. Young Tur Nine: "You are not with us, you are rogue!" Cut to: int: Counsel Room: Young Tur Five: "I am yours! You are my commander!" Tur Invader Three: "Then how is it you have the nerve to give me a request of submission in our greatest hour?!" V.O. Buck: "Because one that is higher than him - er -her gave the order!!" All the Turs turn their attention towards the door puzzled by Buck's last line. Tur Invader three: "And who might you be?!" V.O. Buck: "I am your feathered monarch, your emperor!" All the Turs but Young Tur Five are stunned with surprise by what has just been said and a few go to the floor into a position that looks to be of submissive worship. You helped me even though at first I thought your words were a joke." Buck in a lazy roundabout way to Trainee Five: "Welcome." Buddy and Stevens try to help Buck on to the table / tray Trainee Five was just on. But Buck in his own way shows he'd be more fine with doing it on his own. Stevens: "I think the Captain needs to regenerate now." Buck lets out a sigh as he gets into lying on his back. Turning to Wilma and Buddy; Buck: "He should be working here and not the Transportation Directorate." Buddy: "I'm afraid I can't do that, Buck but there is one you've met today that wants to work here now." Wilma: "He failed the admittance test." Buck: "Buddy?"
